[High Praise! to Primordial Slack]
People thought I was kidding when I said Kim Jong Un’s girlfriend had a hit song in North Korea called “Excellent Horse-Like Lady.”
Here it is:
[YouTube direct link] (Viewer #252,403)
For some reason, it reminds me of an ABBA song, but I can’t quite think of which one.
Anyway, it’s fairly catchy. All it needs is a cameo from Sarah Jessica Parker.
UPDATE: Click here for the lyrics, as well as a video of her other hit song, “She Is a Discharged Soldier”
I’d be remiss to not thank you for the linkage and I do. But I’d also like to direct folks to the comment thread at The Slack for even more horsin’ around!
It’s the song they decided not to record once the drugs wore off.
Polka Polka Polka!
The problem with ‘horsin’ around’ is that they have a tendency to kick me in the arse.
BTW, are North Korean women the only ones who dream of being horse-like – or have I missed some important, pshyco-sexual, cultural trend here?
Wow, the woman in the video is so industrious, and cheerful! Her country must be very proud of her.
I’m sure behind all the smiles her co-workers want to kill her.
c – she may think she’s industrious and cheerful, but she didn’t do it on her own…
Edging out the “Barney and Friends” theme this week on the CIA’s top 100 “enhanced interrogation” playlist…
i’d horse around with her. just sayin.
It is a ABBA song…must find my old 8 track player
This is dreadful. But if you kill the audio and play “Working Girl” (The Members, 1983) as the soundtrack instead, it’s hysterical.
nobody in north korea has ELECTRICITY…how the heck are they hearing this song, much less seeing this sexy, sexy video ?
It’s gotta a good beat, Dick, and you can dance to it. I give it a ten.
Blah! What an awful song, that could have been at least two and a half minutes shorter. If you’ll excuse me, I need to go listen to “Unchained” by Van Halen to cleanse my palate right now.
If anyone else needs that, here you go:
Wow! I’m not sure what
partaspect I liked best! But I’ll narrow it down to either being:* The North Korean Textile-Industry’s “Laverne & Shirley”, and that’s always good…
* The fact that the music is a direct rip-off of numerous anime theme songs, the names of which I don’t know since I don’t speak or read Japanese…
* Karaoke!
Fantastic effort! Really! Considering how backwards their country is and how they must have filmed it on location somewhere (anywhere) not in North Korea.
Out of 10 stars, I rate it
a good solid B minustwo stars.Forget “Unchained”, as wonderful as that is… I think “wonderful” isn’t really called for here. I’m going to find a copy of “Racer X” by Big Black, to really scrub out the memory of this one for good.
Ah here we go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVQi6m9N31g – Now don’t go misinterpreting this as an actual endorsement, ya hear?
Hunter – *slaps forehead* Laverne & Shirley! THAT’S what that do-rag reminded me of:

Huh, I guess Big Black – Racer X actually does work really well. Thanks, Hunter!
