Or how you can get a good condition (or better) used hardcover copy of a book for less than the digital version. I prefer reading hard copies – especially when they’re cheaper.
Same thing with CDs. People ask who buys CDs these days – Answer: cats who would rather get a like-new hard copy for half the price of a download – that’s who.
People who sell physical products have to store them somewhere. It gives them a huge motivation to move their inventory, even at a loss, so they can save on storage costs or make room for more profitable inventory.
But the digital guys? No storage cost and they can bring in new inventory without touching their old stuff. They’re in no hurry and they know you’ll break down and buy the download eventually.
I am sorry, but I am NOT PAYING TAXES for the NSA to SPY ON ME!
