Minimum Wage Reality Check

[High Praise! to Hope n’ Change Cartoons]

The president made a point of saying that support for a higher minimum wage (as well as an extension of “emergency” unemployment benefits) “benefit all of us, because we don’t know when we might have a run of bad luck.”

Only it’s not a run of bad luck that is forcing people into poorly-paying part time jobs. It’s a run of bad governance.

  1. what liberals never realize is minimum was will always be $0.

I think most unemployment benefits are based on minimum wage…so as more workers hit real minimum wage, taxpayers will be picking up even more of the tab.

  2. Every time the minimum wage is raised, the economy gets worse in a few months; sure seems that way to me.
