EVERY day is a holiday!

Never having to bow to any head of state, since I am as much a sovereign in my country as they can be in theirs.
It’s an American thing.
Donning kilts and reciting poetry once a year.
Thanksgiving – a uniquely American holiday (Canada has one, too, but I don’t know of any other country that does, and I don’t think that it’s as important to Canadians as it is to us). I like the good food and the good conversation. I like the different things for which different people are grateful. I have fond memories of Thanksgiving celebrations at my maternal grandparents’ house until I was seventeen (my maternal grandfather died eleven days before Thanksgiving that year).
I love skipping breakfast on Thanksgiving and cooking starting at daybreak with my family. We usually have the feast at noon and pick for the rest of the day.
Thanksgiving is the day that there is no recipie, no matter how expensive or fussy that I can’t justify breaking out the card and just making it.
I love Christmas because the lead up can be so much fun. Decorating, shopping, etc. It makes me feel like a kid again.
4th of July.
Celebratin’ America by BBQing, drinking and blowing stuff up just shows how awesome America is.
It is fun to think about that when the 2026 World Cup is played in the USA, the USA will celebrate it’s 250th birthday right in the middle of it.
My favorite religious holiday is Super Bowl Sunday.
