1/2 Hour News Hour Quick React

Found it as funny as SNL Weekend Update (well, back when I used to watch SNL), but not funnier despite being tailored to my own biases.
So, not a train wreck, but plenty of room for improvement. Scientifical analyis tomorrow. Right now, I watch Battlestar Gallactica which is consistently hilarious.
UPDATE:

At first I thought this was a bad scientific analysis because I thought THIS was your scientific analysis and I thought it was too short, plus I don’t have cable so I don’t get to see it and I need an indepth analysis to know why it wasn’t as funny as you’d like…but then I bullied through the rest of the post and realize you’re keeping us in suspense until tomorrow. Ya Big Poopyhead.

My main complaint about BSG is that the same drama that makes it so engrossing also makes it irritating with its excess. In reality, no group of people could be so on edge and so angst-ridden for such long periods of time. Someone would crack a joke, whistle a tune, play a board game, something…
Then there’s the whole New Caprica arc. I loved the complete turn around they did between S2 and S3, but then then end up pretty much back where they started, just with the Galactica beat up a little more and ten thousand less people.
Then they throw common sense out the window to try and stretch to make some half-baked pseudo-philosophical point. And then I hear that BSG’s creator never intends them to reach Earth? What the %$#@&^% ?! The entire damn premise is centered around them trying to make it to Earth. I suppose the whole thing is considered a “brave” choice.
Anyway, I want to tear my hair out, but it’s still a damn good show. Here’s hoping they inject a little more common sense.

  3. Really disapointing..laugh tracks??? Come on, Fox can do much better. This show bombed bigger than a palestinian in a mall! Why not do some jihad skits like “Johnny gets his Martydom Kit” or “Inter-species dating for the jihadist”.

  4. I can’t stand the new BSG. Sorry, but Edward James Olmos is no Lorne Greene. The old IL series (Lucifer, voiced by the same guy who played Dr. Smith on Lost in Space)Cylons and the Centurians were always good for a laugh (By your command). Give me “Firefly” any day.
