An urban one.
Apparently, the photoshop from this post is getting passed around as if its real. Now, I came up with the idea for the post as a quick dumb gag and found this photo to work with. Moving the cord seemed like a hard job, so I passed it on to My Photoshop Guy, suggesting maybe he crop the image to make it easier. Ends up he did a great job, with the cord looking just a little bit jagged where it was altered. My Photoshop Guy then decided to add in a clock to further set up the joke. The clock is the part that is most obviously photoshopped, but that was okay to me as it’s just supposed to be a visual gag — real enough at first glance to convey the joke but doesn’t need to hold up to further inspection.
Later, My Photoshop Guy said, if he knew that people weren’t going to see through the edits on the cord, he would have spent more time on the clock — but that’s not the goal here. So, for the record, IMAO is here to make you laugh; not to trick you.

Got it from my mom over the weekend, with a trail of three “FW:”s behind it. I told her it was a joke and sent the original.
I just wonder who found this site, failed to recognize it as a humor site, and forwarded the picture. Suppose they’d found a “Newsish fakery” article instead….
I would have gone for a more subtle jab at the recent film I Am Legend like “Imao Legend”, “Iamo Legend” or my personal best “Imao Am Legend”
I think that’s really cool! Loved the photo the first time I saw it. See, those liberals ain’t so smart after all (not that you, Frank, would ever be fooled into thinking they were). It appears someone passed it on as a joke and some dumb liberal took it serious. Anyway, congrats on making urban legends. Your photoshop guy should be very pleased.
“My Photoshop Guy” is itself an urban legend. We all know you mean either Harvey or SarahK. Which means we’re confused. It’s taken me all day to figure this out…
ha! I got the email last week from my dad and sent it to “My Photoshop Guy”. I can say, “I knew him when….”
(when Green Bay lost their playoff game to NY, BWAH HA HA HAAAAaaaaa)
Heh – I got it in an email from my MIL 2 days ago…
Almost hated to burst her bubble… 😉
