A lot of people seem intent on ramming through a path to citizenship for those who came here illegally, but it only seems fair that people who broke the laws get some sort of punishment before getting in line for citizenship. So here’s my idea: They have to cut off a pinky finger. That seems pretty fair to me. You broke the law, but you can still become a citizen — just less one finger. Plus, everyone should agree: Being an American is worth a finger. If you don’t think that, then you don’t deserve citizenship.
Though I guess if there is an illegal immigrant with no hands, he outsmarted the system.
Either we enforce our laws or we don’t. If some laws no longer matter, then no rules matter. If laws governing entering the country legally are no longer enforced, then I guess laws against punching congressmen and senators in the face no longer apply, as well.
That reminds me of a plan I came up with a while back to handle our illegal alien problem. It would not only prevent illegals from coming here in the first place, but would prompt the ones who are already to here to leave voluntarily. I call it the Eunuch in US, Macho in Mehico Plan or EIUSMIM. It’s very simple and wouldn’t be a big drain on the economy: Any illegal alien caught here is castrated. He may choose to stay here afterwards. End of problem.

You get enough people ignorant or contemptuous of things like a government of laws, Constitutional rights and the Emancipation Proclamation and they will vote us all into slavery.
Don’t worry about it:
1) Enforce all employers paying Social Security Taxes on ALL employees.
2) No one can become a Citizen without passing the Citizenship test.
3) No one may draw Social Security until they have paid in for twenty-five years AS A CITIZEN.
4) Fire all Social Security interpreters since citizens must speak and read the official language.
5) Non-Citizens by definition cannot be eligible for “in-state” Tuitions.
6) Only Citizens are eligible foe Social programs such as but not limited to: Unemployment Insurance, WIC, Food Stamps and any other “Givaways”.
Now enforce it with Supervisors being fired for lack of enforcement.
Illegals must all get sent home – if they don’t have health insurance!
If each illegals cost $100,000 in transfer payments – naturalizing 1 million would cost
$100 Billion Dollars.
Naturalizing all illegles will cost $1 1/2 to $2 Trillion.
So social security and medicare – or naturalize all the illegals. One or the other.
We cannot afford both. Take your pick.

That fence they’re building to our south, that is a good start. But…. its needs to be less fence and more funnel. Every so many miles you put a gate with a small building. In the building you put a couple of people at desks. Those people ‘process’ the people coming through the gate/funnel into the USofA. The processing involves taking the immigrants picture, giving them a photo ID with some kind of tracking number similar to a SSN. We can even keep the card green since some of the politicians aren’t too quick to catch on to changes.
The catch?
You explain to each immigrant when handed their new green card that it is only valid for 6 months. If the immigrant does not re-register at the six month mark they will be added to a list making them eligible to be shot on site by any Citizen of the US.
This gives all the immigrants the necessary paperwork to get a job and pay local taxes upon arrival. AND there is the bonus of being able to shoot the immigrants who haven’t kept their cards current.

Repeat violators wind up with nubs for extremities.
Although…if such a penalty is enacted–and manages to survive the tedious appeals being made by the ACLU–the state becomes responsible for the post-amputatory treatment.
Though, it would send an even more direct message to have the border jumpers sent back to ole Mex with their hands either hemorrhaging or crudely cauterized by, say, a heated fireplace poker or just a Bic lighter.
Once they figure out they can get SSDI for missing a finger, they’ll be cutting half of them off. You can’t pick beans with only 5 fingers. Throw in a little ADHD and they’ll be all set, the non-american dream.
