I love how Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called the Democrat California legislature “girlie men,” and then the Democrats fight back by whining and throwing hissy fits like a bunch of girlie men.
I really could never understand how any self-respecting man could vote for a Democrat.
Well, hear me now and understand me later: I think Arnold should keep up the rhetoric. He should have a press conference to apologize saying, “I am so sorry I upset the Democrats by calling them ‘girlie men.’ To make up, I’ll give them all pretty flowers so they squeal with girlish glee.”
Hell, this seemed to hit a vein so well with the Democrats, we should use it at the national level. President Bush should put out an ad with an Arnold voice over saying, “What if you elect Kerry president, and there is terrorist attack, but he can’t respond right away because he’s spending an hour fixing his hair, the frilly little girlie man.”
In the Vice Presidential Debate, Dick Cheney could just keep bouncing a basketball off of John Edwards’s head while saying, “Are you going to cry? Are you going to cry?”
To which Edwards will answer with a tearful, “Yes.”
Politics have just evolved, my friends. Thank you, Arnold.

Something I’d love to happen during the debates: Kerry finishes one of his long-winded non-answers and sort of gives an “in your face” attitude to Bush as he turns it over for rebuttal. Bush regards Kerry with a calm, quiet dignity and says, “adouchebagsayswhat?”
These lame democrats are obviously so easy to manipulate. If he would have called them out like that “Come up here and tell the people that you represent the special interests first” and left off the “girlie men” line, the left would have crucified him. They would have whipped out example after example of the Republicans catering to special interest first as well. Because they do, all politicians do (and I am a republican).
But by throwing in the “girlie men” line, he made their widdle powittically cowwect brains explode. ALl they can do is stammer and stutter that he wasn’t NICE! He was insensitive. It makes gays feel bad. It makes women feel bad (though I don’t know why it should).
No substance in their counter-attack, just whining. Beautiful! They can’t even talk about real issues if someone is out there being insenstitive. Beause that is all the ammo they have.

Arnold always said that the best thing in life is to beat the Democrats, call them girlie men and listen to them cry like little girls. (Ok, it was “crush your enemies, drive them before you and listen to the lamentations of their women.” -same thing)
Arnie is exactly what California needed. Not only does he have a workable plan for getting the state on it’s feet, he’s also popular enough to slash through the PC crap that’s so rampant out there. The people have given him a mandate to kick ass and take names and that’s exactly what he’s doing.
Anyone who’s offended by this is either way oversensitive or (more likely) just engaging in some utterly transparent political opportunism. Gays and women have no reason to be offended here; Arnie is well-known to be socially libertarian, and the entire thing is derived from an SNL skit.
All the gripers are going to succeed in doing is revealing themselves as humorless hand-wringers.

I posted the “official” Arnold apology on my site yesterday. it was very touching.
I think the democrats should complain this commnet is grossly insulting to all girlie-men, come on how would you like to be compared to a democrat?
Speaking of liberal girly men: My parents were walking in Portland after having lunch on Sunday when they encountered two guys with a whole bunch of anti-Bush signs standing on the sidewalk. My mom then says “I love George Bush” as she walks by. One lib yells to her “Go f*** yourself!” (to my MOM!!) My Dad then asks him, “Excuse me, did you just tell my wife to go f*** herself?” The lib replies “yes”, at which point my dad slaps him upside the head!! (Yea Daddy!!!) (He said if he had known his hand was going to reach out and slap him he would have planned ahead and really clocked him. Oh well.) Anyway, the lib starts lisp-screaming “Hate crime, hate crime, that’s a hate crime!!!” for about 5 minutes straight (or until the cops arrived, whichever came first). Anyway, my Dad didn’t go to jail and we all had a good laugh. That guy was definitely a “girly-man”.

Remember, if you aren’t careful, you can catch wussy-ness from those guys. Rather than slap them (slap?), it’s best to convince them that their sensitiveness is needed elsewhere. I recommend rebel Mongolia or Manilla, or southern Sudan. Send them off and let them “help” the people there.

I don’t care if Arnold calls the Democrats “girlymen,” or “wussies,” or anything else. I DO care that Arnold is trying to sell out California to the same energy comglomerates that engineered the brown-outs and power shortages of the last couple of years.
And as for the VP debates—Edwards will eat Cheney alive! Edwards is smart, likable, and hard to derail—Cheney is smart, but a bully and a thug, which will come across very well on teevee. Bring it on!

The thing that seems to keep getting missed on this is that this started as a Saturday Night Live joke on Arnold – he just used the same joke.
