I Seek Neither Revenge Nor Reconciliation

A bunch of liberals had the idea to send out warm fuzzy message to conservatives about how they love us and we can all work together calling it From 52 to 48. It’s kinda cute — like a dog wearing a hat. And that’s cute primarily because the dog doesn’t know what a hat is; it just knows it’s getting attention.

We had years of citizens denouncing their own country, not just being anti-American but being anti-basic humanity in how these nitwits who never have accomplished anything even remotely useful in their own lives were as arrogant as to believe their political views were so important that it exempted them from even basic decency. While people fought and died, all they cared about was that their incoherent shrieking was heard. Their simple minds just painted everyone who believed differently than them as mindlessly evil, once again justifying their actions no matter how horrid.

But now they got someone they like elected president so its time to make nice! Let’s forgive and forget!

Yes, like the next time something doesn’t go their way they won’t once again revert to narcissistic, mewling infants. So, if I slap away your offer, it’s not because I hold a grudge, it’s because I’m not an idiot. If these people really learned anything, their response would be to beg us for forgiveness for their behavior. Until then, no dice.

The disconnect is illustrated in the creator of the idea, zefrank, responding to a comment asking where was this desire to work together the past eight years. zefrank said:

Eight years ago, I felt left out, worried about our country and the direction it was taking. Same with four years ago. No one reached out to me. That is why I want to do this. Kindness and a desire to work together is everywhere, but it needs to be activated

He needed someone to reach out to him after an election? To do what? Give him a hug and patiently explain the electoral system to him?

Of course, the other party winning the presidency hasn’t overturned my world to the point I need to be cradled in someone’s arms and told everything will be alright. That’s because I’m not a useless person. My own life is fulfilling enough that I don’t feel the need to put all my self-worth in big global events beyond my control. I’m not a narcissist who thinks everything that happens is about me.

One thing I’ve learned through the years is that a big part about being a conservative means you always have more important things to worry about than politics. Not for these people… because they’re useless. And thus we gain nothing from working with them. On the other hand, we gain nothing from tripping them up.

So don’t worry, hippies: I’m not going to act like you have the past eight years — I wouldn’t demean myself like that. Also, I don’t hate you… but I don’t like you either.

I nothing you.

  1. Essentially they are asking us as POWs to Collaborate with the Enemy.

They have a word for it: Bipartisanship.

    It is an obscene word.

When we give in, they call it bipartisanship. When they give in they call it defeat.

  2. Yeah. Right. 8 years of Chimpy McBushHitler, Halliburton eats babies, Dick Cheney fahsions cowboy boots out of the pelts of the hippies who cross his path, and these morons suddenly want to make nice? Fat chance. that doesn’t mean I’ll go around making fun of President Obama, other than his tendency to be kind of a dillhole, but what they did was not dissention, it was despicable and in my mind, anti_American. So, to those “fitty-two-ers,” I say “Pbpbpbpbpttt!!!”

  3. When they give in they call it defeat

That’s wrong Reality…they NEVER give in. They harass, resist, sabotage, cry, whine, and sue to get their way. They only reach across the aisle to point a finger and yell “racist!”

  4. “Yes, like the next time something doesn’t go their way they won’t once again revert to narcissistic, mewling infants.”

You mean like how despite the fact the left managed to get the most liberal President in American history elected, they’ve been protesting for the better part of a week over prop 8 in California? Even when they win 95% of their battles they scream bloody murder about the other 5%.

  5. The hippies in the media and blogosphere are not the same group that Obama is bringing into his administration, Frank. Nor are they the same groups in Congress and the Bush administration that are converting our financial system to an endless feeding tube of rotten gruel. Within months of the inauguration, you’re not going to care what a bunch of potheads think. Just a prediction.

  6. I saw this a few days ago so I’ll just c&p my original response to it from elsewhere:

“Question: What were these people doing when they didn’t get their way? They were posting pictures of themselves holding up signs apologizing to foreigners because we didn’t elect who they wanted.

It seems like there ought to be a word to describe the phenomenon of being a raging hormonal bitch when you lose but wanting hugs from the people you beat when you win. Now I’m all about giving Obama a chance and being optimistic he’ll do a good job. And that will be a lot easier if these skidmarks stay out of my face.”

  7. First off any one thinking the radical left has calmed down is in for a big surprise. Nothing has changed in reality, only the left’s perception. They still will have their far left agenda. They just won’t be going around screaming un-American rhetoric because now they believe the rest of the country agrees with them. My personal predictions to prove my point:

    1) Iraq: Obama isn’t stupid enough to pull out of Iraq. To do so would mean the collapse of major areas of the county. Look to have Obama keep the current plan. Watch how Iraq will not be mentioned as a problem by anyone in the left after it becomes Obama’s problem. Also watch the Left argue that Obama set a time table, and that was the basis for peace, not the surge. Look for cute little stories about how the military has been rebuilding Iraq under Obama with no mention of the vast improvements we’ve made under President Bush.

    2) The economy: The economy sucks, but watch how the public opinion will suddenly rise on the MSM when Obama takes office. The media will report on all the good that the administration is doing, not the dismal unemployment, or other failing economic indicators. For those of you that remember past last week. It’ll be like when the economy was tanking under Clinton’s last year.

    3) Foreign Policy: Watch as Obama has pointless meetings with evil foreign heads of state. Even though nothing will come of these meetings except the same run around that Bush and Clinton got, the press will call it historic. Four years later when Iran is building its first nuclear bomb, look to left screaming that it was Bush’s foreign policy that made them want to build a bomb.

BTW: Happy birthday Former Hostage, and any other Marines on this page.

  8. My close friend, a Philadelphia jew, and I had a discussion, where he said to me, “Well, you should at least give him a Chance before condemning him.” I said, “Well, when he fails, it’ll be his own fault, not the fault of the people who discounted him. No more than Bush’s apparent failures were caused by all those people who called him ‘Hitler.'”

and he said, in all seriousness, “Who called Bush ‘Hitler?'”

  9. Headline today in Philadelphia Pravda (a.k.a. Inquirer): “Election begets a boom in baby Baraks”

It’s started. I didn’t have the gastrointestional fortitude to read any further, but I know what this portends. It’s the beginning of the end.

You see, in this manure-rich fertile environment, the baby Baraks are muliplying like rabbits on Viagra…no…like…like….Tribbles!

You laugh? Just you wait. They are replicating in all manners of awful, frenzied cellular division. You won’t even see it. You’ll open the door to get the mail, and a baby Barak will swoop in unseen like a pink bat. Another will slither in under your door, and holy fornicating chicken-fried popes!…before you can say “Yes We Can” they’ll be at it. You’ll go out to dinner, and when you come home and open the door, thousands of them will cascade out of the house.

Capt. Kirk, Spock, and Bones had a picnic compared to what you will be facing. You’ll start with brooms, then rakes…you’ll call an exterminator…nothing will keep up. You’ll go in with flame throwers and anthrax WMD…sorry. Nice try, but hopeless. You won’t be laughing when they are calling in a napalm and MOAB strike on your house, as of course the only way to save your little village will be to destroy it. I hope we have enough tactical nukes, and even that might be too tepid a response.

So go ahead and laugh. You wait….baby Baraks.

Woe is me…nobody knows the Tribbles I’ve seen…….

  10. #7 is right.

When 52% support Obama it’s a historic mandate from the people and we’re just expected accept it and join in. But when 52% vote for the traditional definition of marriage then they cry and scream and threaten to burn down churches. It’s definitely a Cluster B Personality Disorder.

  11. You are so right Former Hostage. They never quit.

Like infants, they don’t know the meaning of the word “No”.

Since you have more experience than we do on surviving when captured in enemy territory, perhaps your wisdom would be helpful here. What we have here is no way as awful as what you went through, but perhaps we could learn some applicable lessons from you anyway. You did great back then. Tell us what would work now.

    Best Wishes to you.

  12. Good points all, especially Frank. I’d pile on, but it’s all been said so brilliantly I have nothing to add on the point brought up. Veeshir’s link is brilliant in the extreme.

We went through a similar thing with Clinton where he “loathed the military” and became Commander In Chief. He clearly had no clue or interest in how to execute that role, bombing to distract from congressional hearings into his corruption while ignoring Al Quada for 7 years. When a military flyover annoyed some military-hating fellow hippie/Clinton staffer at his inauguration, someone told that person – “they’re OUR planes now”. Our planes that bombed Christian countries to defend Muslim ones, our troops that incinerated the men, women, and children at Waco, Our riot-gear soldiers that sent Elian Gonzalez back to Cuba’s reeducation camps at machine-gun point.

I didn’t join the military in large part because blue helmets were coming into fashion in the Bush 41 years, and frankly while I’d spill my blood for my country, I wouldn’t so much as spit for the UN. Clinton’s “OUR planes” ineptitude only reinforced that decision. We are facing a time when Obama’s ineptitude with military affairs may make Clinton look competent. I suspect Barney Frank may get his 25 percent military cuts just on the basis of a mass exodus of patriots from the armed forces. I suspect we may face a number of “John Galt” decisions across the board – not just in corporations – that will seek to limit the damage Obama’s disciples can inflict by, as Newt Gingrich once said, “Defunding the left”.

By the way, Frank – you mentioned media coverage of the economy flipping based on the election. I worked at a Chicago office, run by a Chicago Democrat, who produced the economic data printed in over 100 newspapers around the time Clinton was first elected. I saw all the economic data from the government BBS and was told which to report and which to ignore. Prior to the election, there may be eight positive and two negative graphs we could generate. I was told without fail to print the worst graphs. Then Clinton was President-Elect and two graphs may be good and eight bad. I was told to print the two good ones. Also note that leading economic indicators are often corrected months later, so that data that initially looked bad may not be bad at all. There are also concurrent and trailing economic indicators that also told a story different than the myth Democrats still preach about the Bush 41 years.

  13. Reminds me of the reaction of one of my coworkers after the 2004 election (I was working at the University of Minnesota): The professor was literally yelling obscenities about the election results the morning after Bush was re-elected. I could hear him through his door spouting off things I wouldn’t want my toddler to repeat about how this country is awful, stupid, everyone who voted for Bush was (fill in the most obscene word you could think of), etc. etc. And yet, these are the same people who when I say, “Yeah, I’m a little diappointed in the 2008 election results.” ask me why I have so much “hate.” WTF? Guess it’s only “hate” when you disagree with them. Ain’t “free speech” grand? (Some of us have A LIFE outside of blaming all our problems on the government and waiting for others to fix them.)

  14. Is that site, the “I’m sorry Bush was elected, but the US is full of bigoted jerks who cannot understand the awesomeness that is John Kerry” website with all those people who held up signs saying just that- is that site still around?

Because this seems to be a pretty huge contrast in attitudes to me.

What, pray tell, are the differences here? Four years ago they had no desire to work with us, and now that they have one of “their team” in office, they’re desperately hoping we don’t treat them the way they have treated us for eight years?

    Seriously?

  15. I for one am glad a liberal is reaching out to comfort me, for I am scared and confused about the future.
The soft, reassuring words of my former adversary calms my fears, and lets me know everything will be alright.
A gentle liberal touch sends a thrill up my leg, finally settling in my nether regions, and I have never felt so alive.
Suddenly I feel a tugging at my straining zipper, and I can’t hol

    I’ll be right back

  16. I will not stand behind Obama as president. After the ridiculous things those Liberals said about Bush and actually found it as an acceptable outlet. NO WAY NO HOW am I going to be giving nonsense warm fuzzy hugs to those maggots. Heck I wouldn’t do that anyways what conservative would. but yeah no one has further divided this nation more than Barack Hussein Obama. And he will continue to more as our president.

  17. “Is that site, the “I’m sorry Bush was elected, but the US is full of bigoted jerks who cannot understand the awesomeness that is John Kerry” website with all those people who held up signs saying just that- is that site still around?”

I don’t know, but I’ve been thinking of starting my own “I’m Sorry” website.

Except it will be apologizing to the Founding Fathers for letting this Marxist take over.

  18. 27 Mateo R: I agree. While a screaming banshee I will not become, I will refuse to support Obama’s Socialist Manifesto or hold hands with the hippies who have raked our country, Bush, the troops, the Constitution, and the American family over the coals during the last eight years, airing their dirty-laundry-rantings for all enemies to plot over.

This is not an endorsement for the negatives of the Bush years. Just the acknowledgment that Bush was not Hitler and that Obama’s promises have sounded suspiciously Third Reichian. If The O performs to my surprise, so be it, and bravo for the US. But as I hope for the positive, I prepare for the negative, and look forward to 2010/12.

  19. I was talking to one of my friends who is an Obama supporter last night, and he basically said the same thing. I cannot believe the audacity of these people! We’re supposed to give Obama the benefit of the doubt when all we’ve heard for the past 8 years is a constant drumbeat of mindless lemmings yelling “Bushitler”?

Of course, I don’t expect conservatives to stoop to the same level, but you can be sure that we will refuse to roll over and let our country become prey to the socialist visions of the far left.

In the words of Ann Coulter, “In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.”

    *maniacal laughter*

  20. After seeing all that let’s be friends crap, I just really want to punch every one of them in the face. It’s almost like they’re saying “we just screwed your country and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Like some catty bitch in junior high who bad mouths people behind their backs, then acts she’s their best friend when they are around.

  21. We should avoid crossing the line to “obama derangement syndrome”. But that shouldn’t keep us from reminding people as frequently as is appropriate, “We told you so”.

Otherwise, people may get used to the idea of an America based on the principles of obama, reid, pelossi, ayers, and wright, rather than those of Madison, Jefferson, Washington, and Lincoln.

  22. 31…

Right on, couldn’t agree more. And if they say they never gave Bush any grief all I gotta do is point to DU, Daily Kos, Huff Po, a plethora of online news mags (NYT, LAT, SFC, etc.) and let’s not forget the google of video footage that is available on YouTube…….or do all these things plan a massive memory hole sweep? I hope several top-end conservative blogs & news sources (*coughFrankcough*) cache all the offensive crap they can while it’s still up, so it NEVER really ‘disappears’.

  23. Yes, the rational course is always a good one, still…

“They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate countless worlds, and we fall back. Not again. Not this time. The line must be drawn here! This far, no farther! And I will make them pay for what they have done!”

    Assimilate this.

  24. Several things:

    1) Hitler and Chamberlain had a bit of “bipartisan efforts,” that is, until Hitler could get no more, then proceeded to just take.
    2) A HUGE thank-you for mentioning my birthday today!!
    3) I REALLY, REALLY would like to get a “OUCK FBAMA” t-shirt to add to my “Obama in 08” Curious George t-shirt, which I’m sure you all are very aware of. For those who may not have seen or heard of it, here is a link a a report about it: http://www.newsday.com/topic/am-george,0,7433799.story

  25. Make nice my great aunts bussel. Obama derangement syndrome is right on schedule. For the next four years everything bad that happens no matter where or when is Obamas fault. Rain, snow, sleet, war, famine, disease, terrorist (domestic and foreign) high taxes, food and gas prices are all the fault of the one.

No one can hold a grudge like an Irishman (except an Irish woman, we’re still mad about the famine and that’s 250 or so years ago). So they’d better get used to it.

Maybe they can provide a good example of how one gets over people lying and slandering and libeling THEIR president. (He will never represent me, I don’t care how much Oprah cries).

  26. A week before the election, I knew that BO was gonna win. I was sad and confused and I needed reassurance that all would be OK. So I reached out for comfort…at the Florida Gun Exchange (big firearms dealer in Datona Beach), and picked up a really cute SOCOM 16 (short Barrel M1A) for a great price. It has kept me feeling warm and fuzzy for the last 2 weeks or so. Only problem is that my ARs and my AKs are getting jealous.
    Happiness is a warm gun.
