Whose idea was it to give Democrats a bunch of our money to spend? I’m guessing FDR. If I ever ran into him, he’d be extra crippled. I guess I should also put Woodrow Wilson’s head through drywall to be fair.
You know the Dilbert Principle? That’s where the useless people move on to management because you can’t spare promoting a good worker to management because then he’d no longer be doing the work. Politics seems to be governed by the same principle, as the majority of politicians are people who have never done anything useful outside of politics. Most of them are lawyers, who pass more laws so we need more lawyers. So how smart is it to give them power to dick around in a multi-trillion dollar economy?
I’m not really convinced we can come up with a system where we won’t mainly get useless people running for office, which is why it is so important to limit the power of politicians. They should be able to send out the military to destroy other countries — things we don’t care about — but they need to keep their hands off our money.
One of Alexis de Tocqueville criticisms/concerns in his book Democracy in America was that the best, most qualified people would not run for public office. It will not be worth it to them to have their name and reputation destroyed in order to hold public office. I think on that point he was right on the money which is why our politicians are so worthless and they certainly are not qualified to spend all our money. For the most part (there are exceptions) the best and the brightest remain in the private sector rather than going into government service where they are free from the character assassinations like what was done to Governor Sarah Palin. Term limits would certainly help the situation but even then you have to have something wrong with you to want to put yourself and your family through the liberal media character assassinations. Liberals and scumbags get a free pass so we get the likes of Teddy Kenned and Harry Reid spending out money.
Thats one of the few things the communists do right when they take over. They execute all the lawyers and most of the academics. his would go a long way in solving America’s problems.
I think there should be a test to be a politician. Heck, don’t you have to take a test just to work in the post office?
#2, you are corret. But if there were a test, kennedy, biden, dood, schumer, and that one would not be leading our nation to ruin. Therefore they have forbidden honest tests to be a politician. Their test is, did you lie, cheat or steal today? then your in. Unless you are a republican.
When do we get to storm the
Castleer, Capitol? After that, the so-called “news” outlets.
BTW I’m totally serious too; I’m so tired of this Dem/Rep Liberalism-slash-entitlement-slash-hypocrisy sh*t.
That community organizing may not be hard work, but it sure does pay well.
Frank,
“as the majority of politicians are people who have never done anything useful outside of politics.” Emphasis added.
This implies that they have accomplished something useful inside of politics.
NunyaB,
I don’t mean to pry, but you wouldn’t a-happen to have a-six fingers on your right hand?
Keep in mind, lawyers and actors have the same job.
Convince themselves and those listening to them that whatever they say is fact, even if it involves magic wombats tap-dancing to the music from Grease.
That’s pretty much it. No other qualifications other than memorizing what has come before, be it case law or script, and treat it as authoritative, even if it involves said wombats and the afforementioned Grease soundtrack.
And make money doing it. Buttloads of money doing it. And screw each other in public, be it on C-SPAN or Cinemax.
Addendum to the Omnibus Rectumbus Sticimus Uptimus Assibus bill that is currently working it’s way through Congress. Resolution #WhatDoYouCall500LawyersAtTheBottomOfTheOceanAct Omnibus Bill. “No lawyer or any said person of such legal training or having attended a law school or having given oral or anal sex to said lawyer shall ever be elected to the Congress of the United States.
(#7, which one would you like to see? 😉 )
…meanwhile the Republicans are trying to inject themselves into the mortgage market even further. And, the Congress teed it up so nicely for these jackass senators. Their pomposity and quest for yet more power knows no bounds.
