Liberals are always trying to tie crime to gun laws — and failing since the highest crime ends up in cities with the strictest gun laws — but have they ever checked violent crime versus voting Democrat? Now, I haven’t had time for a full study, but I bet there is a really strong correlation between violent crime and voting for Democrats. I don’t know how to get the data to prove it, though, but here is a list of U.S. cities with the most violent crime and here’s a list of the top 25 most liberal and conservative cities. I notice a lot of the liberal cities rank high on the list of cities with violent crime while few conservative cities are on the list and if they are there are quite low on it (can you think of any city that has a lot of crime and is Republican leaning?). Proving the rule, think of how bad crime was in New York City back when it last had Democrats as mayor and how crime hugely fell after electing a Republican.
Anyway, we need further data, but I think the result will be that on ballots there should be a warning next to any Democrat saying “Voting for this person may cause violent death.”
It is a reliable side effect of leftists imbalanced, selfish, and Utopian ethos.

I live in a small town in rural Alaska with very little crime of any sort. I guess this explains why we have a low crime rate…not one single Dem in charge of anything…not even dog catcher. Oh yeah…plus we’re all armed to the teeth I think that helps too.
I noticed a lot of the cities in the list are infested with illegals as well as democrats.
Perhaps if we could just get the illegals to only kill democrats, the world would be a better place.
And is it any coincidence that the cities with the most hippie punching going on are the ones with the least crime?

As a bonus most of these democrat run and infested cities have strict gun control.
So, in other words, in cities where criminals aren’t sure whether or not you have a gun, they tend to not try to rob people as much, most likely out of fear of getting shot. However, in cities where they know you don’t have a gun they are much braver when it comes to committing violent acts. Wow, who’d have thought?
Where’s a list of the top 25 most liberal and conservative cities? Am I missing something, or are you guys just commenting without even reading it?

Not all 25 show up in the crime stats, but in order top violent crime rates to lowest, Liberal cities rated 20, 1, 5, 14, 25, 11, 4, 18, 7, conservative rated 22, 24, liberal rated 9 & 16, conservative rated 8 & 14, liberal rated 21, conservative rated 6, 13, & 5, liberal 17. For some reason Chicago doesn’t report total violent crimes, so registers as 0 (which somehow I don’t believe) but total rate per 100K of population for the liberal cities is 154.45 & for the conservative cities is 41.42 — 27% of the liberal violent crime rate.
I am sorry, but I do not agree with the logic of this article. Your reasoning is backwards – Cities with high crime-rates tend to vote democrat, not “cities run by Democrats have high crime”. Its a well-established fact that urban and inner city areas harbor the lower class – middle class (thus larger cities are more prone to crime). Large urban cities also tend to be more diverse ethnically (the trend in immigrants and racially foreign people is also to vote democratic). Ethnic diversity also fosters gang violence, and therefore more crime. In other words, more criminals typically = democrats.
The best way to test the theory, and establish causality, would be to use longitudinal (time series) data, and compare crime rates within cities before and after changes of power. So for example, how did crime rates change before and after Giuliani’s mayorship of NYC. Comparing D cities to R cities isn’t the best scientific way to analyze the data, simply because there could be lots of other confounding factors.

Living in a conservative city, the murder rate is 18.55% of the liberal city, the forcible rape rate is 88.03% of liberal cities, the robbery rate is 23.79% of the liberal cities, the aggrivated assault rate is 53.65% of the liberal cities, the burgularly rate is 76.57% of the liberal ciites, the larceny/theft rate is 100.39% of the liberal cities (more affluent?), the auto theft rate is 39.17% of the liberal cities, the arson rate is 60.50% of the liberal cities.
Fortunately, it doesn’t matter what city I’m in. I’m a conservative and therefore capable of defending myself so bring it punk!
