  1. Ah, my sons’ favorite Schoolhouse Rock. I used the DVD of all the Schoolhouse Rock offerings ’cause they aren’t televised any more. We used them during home school.

“Grab your bullets! Grab your guns! Report to General Washington!”

Imagine, we used to hear that on Saturday mornings between our cartoons.

  2. Love the image of the mom handing powder and rifle to her kid and sending him off. Awesome!

If liberals made this they’d have a black or hispanic mom forced to go to war because she can’t get a job because of discrimination and leaving a bunch of bawling kids behind.

  3. #1 –

Remember, we heard that between cartoons – REAL Bugs Bunny cartoons with real violence.

There’s nothing more pathetic than the violence-free version of Duck, Rabbit Duck!

But the Donks _are_ making a strong effort this year. You have to give them credit.

  4. Thanks for the flashback Harvey. Those where the days. When cartoons while written to amuse adults were mainly focused at kids. Now we have cartoons written exclusively for adults that are foul, obnoxious, nasty, irreverent, irresponsible and offensive. And of course kids can’t wait to watch them. No wonder our communities have turned into Fernwoods but no harm done. Everyone loves Bart and Homer and their cartoon compatriots. After all no one really acts like the people on King of the Hill, Simpsons, South Park and the Family Guy.

The kids who watch them do but as no one in their own homes give a hoot how they act, why should we care.

Maybe Obama will make Bart Czar of Indoctrination. Don’t you just love our Brave New World?

  5. seanmahair – I’ll give you South Park and Family Guy, but I have to defend the Simpsons. They’re dysfunctional as all get-out, but at the end of every show, Homer & Marge always recommit to their marriage & family

King of the Hill, well I don’t watch it enough to have the low-down, but the episodes I’ve watched, Hanks conservative values usually win out.
