Obama Is A… Part 1

IMAO reader Alice was so inspired by the “Obama Is” Google search post that she did an “Obama is a…” Google search for every letter of the alphabet & sent me screenshots.

Oddly, e, x, and y returned nothing, so I skipped those, but you can make your own in the comments to amuse yourselves.

Anyway, instead of just posting everything all at once, I’m going to pointlessly drag this out like a reality show results episode:

iPad Now Available on Amazon

Why is that important?

1) It means you can now order it without paying sales tax (Apple store and Best Buy make you pay local sales tax)

2) Now I can link to it so I can get a cut if someone buys one.

I’ve been wanting to rave about how cool the iPad is, but it seemed unethical to pimp some item when I wouldn’t get a cut of sales. Now that I can get referral credit, I have to say months after having one it’s still the coolest thing ever. I mean, it’s the only thing in 2010 that matches my expectations of what 2010 would be like when I was a kid (where are my flying cars, robots, and moon base?). I wasn’t quite sure what it’s purpose was when I bought one, but I’ve been constantly using it since. Web surfing, videos (iTunes, Netflix, YouTube), books, comic books, games all on this little thing you can lay in bed using. Basically, I use it for all computer stuff other than writing. And then there is all the neat things people are still coming up with to use it for, like the app I tried out where you just hold the iPad up towards the sky and it shows you what stars and constellations you’re looking at. I think the iPad is going to be pretty ubiquitous in the future, and I bet web design will be changed to better accommodate it (regular web pages seems so low tech and clunky compared to specifically made apps).

Man, I don’t want to have to redesign IMAO, though. I hate maintenance stuff…

Frank Riddles

I was thinking: Kids these days just don’t get enough riddles. They would hardly stand a chance if they were to run into a Sphinx or a Gollum. So, as a public service, I will present some riddles. Here is the first one, and it’s an easy one (well, SarahK got it):

Six siblings we are,
The older three born last,
The younger three born first,
And our creator through us was first god, then devil.

If you can identify of what the riddle speaks and are the first to post it in the comments, you win…

…wait for it…

HIGH PRAISE!

The Environmentalist/Terrorist Convergence

So this environmental group released a video showing a teacher casually exploding students refusing to cut the carbon admissions, their blood and guts falling on their horrified classmates. You’d almost think this movie was made by the guy who took hostages at the Discovery Channel, but it’s a well produced video that apparently had a lot of people involved who didn’t have a problem with the obviously Nazi-like idea of brutally murdering inconvenient people who disagree with you.

And while environmentalists send out a video fantasizing about murdering infidel children, Osama bin Laden has released a video worrying about climate change. Do I sense a team up in the works?

A lot of people worry about Glenn Beck’s audience becoming violent, which is idiotic (they are at more of a risk of writing on chalk board while using funny voices, though), but environmentalists are constantly given the message that we’re all going to die unless something is done RIGHT NOW! It’s not that hard to see why susceptible minds would snap, but what do we do? You know how they have those sex predators registries so people know whether they’re in their neighborhood? Maybe there should be one for environmentalists. I certainly wouldn’t trust them around my children.

A Better Analogy for Obama

So it looks like Obama has finally moved on from his car in the ditch analogy to now comparing America’s current conditions to slavery saying, “It took time to free the slaves.” That seems a little harsh. Obama has been a tremendous screw up, but I still wouldn’t quite compare it to slavery. Plus, it’s not like the Democrats have a great record when it comes to that subject.

I guess Obama is still trying to come up with an analogy that doesn’t make his epic failing look quite so bad. And, as at all things, so far he’s failed. The problem is things have gotten way worse under him, and his analogies don’t cover that. With the car analogy, no one smashes up a car getting it out of a ditch. And with the slavery analogy, I don’t remember everyone getting way more enslaved before slavery ended. What he needs is an example of when things got really horrible just before they got awesome. I think I have just the analogy for Obama’s next speech:

“Remember: It took Carter to get to Reagan.”

Wow; I feel more encouraged already.

Random Thoughts

If the GOP can knock out longtime Congressmen like Barney Frank, that will probably actually help the Democrats in the long run.

That’s one thing I don’t get with the black vote split: What unforgivable thing did the Republicans do that was worse than slavery?

Did Rick Sanchez really think the Jews who run the media wouldn’t find out what he said?

Are they at least going to put everyone involved with that 10:10 No Pressure video in a registry so we’ll know if they’re living in our neighborhood?
