Activists are planning a “Million Muppet March” in DC to protest Mitt Romney’s threat to de-fund Sesame Street.
Um… shouldn’t they take the money they’ll spend on airline tickets & donate it to PBS, instead?

Is anyone else from IMAO planning on being there? I am SO planning to check this out. Should be…. entertaining?
Since “Muppets” is a trademark of the Walt Disney Company, I wonder if they’ll let the organizers of this thingy call it that.
What are you going to suggest next, that they voluntarily pay higher taxes?
Big Bird makes $300,000+ why doesn’t he take a pay cut?
Is that what residents of D.C. are called now? Muppets?
(I’m sorry you’re so close to ground Zero, Carolyn.)
How can Muppets march? They don’t have any legs.
Maybe they slither, zz. Like The One of ground Zero.
Heh. “One of Zero.” Kind of explains everything.
I should make that my new commenting name.

How does that look?
Well, I tried it and got moderated, of course!
Here’s the thing. If Sesame Street AKA Muppet headquarters is making millions why don’t they pay to fund PBS. Then they could run whatever propaganda they wanted to.
Or if every muppet donated to PBS they could replace what the government was spending and nothing would change.
But putting one’s money where one’s mouth is has never been a liberal adage.
Please suggest donating just to Children’s Television Workshop and not the parent Super PAC PBS.
From the report: “They may fall short of attracting a million people, or Muppets, to the event, but they do hope to create what Bellavia called a “lovefest” featuring skits and musical performances with Muppets.”
Sounds like a cross between The Rocky Horror Picture Show and one of those Furry conventions. So bring both plastic sheeting and penicillin.
I contacted Mr. Freeze so the “Muppets on Ice” could attend.
A million people with absolutely no knowledge of how business works. Do they seriously not realize that even if the entire PBS network was to go away, the Disney Channel would immediately begin airing the Muppets? Any programs that have developed a sizable viewership will find a new home – those that haven’t, who cares that they go away if no one’s watching anyway?
The only way they’re gonna get a million bodies is to promise free weed and patchouli.
Harvey, your suggestion is logical enough, but here’s where it fails: That would involve them using their money to accomplish their ends. They’re more interested in using your money to accomplish their ends.
@Son of Bob, they seriously do not realize. Otherwise GM could have gone bankrupt and saved we-the-people. There’s no strong brand recognition with Chevy, Caddy, Buick. Nope. Heaven forbid anything should fail so (because?) something better can take its place.
