I Wish I Lived in Syria

  1. Each Syrian rebel shall submit a request from a short list of officially approved assault weapons. Such weapons shall have a magazine capacity of no more than 20 rounds. A background check will be performed on each rebel and within 7 working days the background check will be returned as either “disapproved” or “not disapproved.” If “not disapproved,” the rebel may then take possession of his or her weapon. Unless the system is so backed up by high volume and administrative indifference that the background check takes 30 – no, 60 – no, maybe 90 days. Oh, and after October 1, fingerprinting is required and the Syrian rebel will have to take a government approved safety course. And there will be a much shorter list of weapons to choose from.
Oh wait. I was thinking “Maryland citizen.” If you’re a Syrian, we’ll just give you what you want.
    It’s for the children.

  2. @1 — Vaktatunnen, here in America, we walk into a gun store, and look at all of the shiny wonderful toys on the wall and take home the one that is the most fun or the one that fits a particular need. Unlike the eastern bloc, where they are afraid of manliness. I had a buddy tell me the other day that I already had a .30 caliber so why did I need another one, so I told him, I didn’t want to have to buy a new reloading die. But I digress. Where is fiendstein asking why the syrians need automatic weapons, and scary looking guns? Why isn’t an “assault rifle” the same as the military uses? marxism is truly a mental disorder.
