Caution: You May Become Stupider Just By Being Exposed to These Words

Shame on you genetic lottery winners for paying an artificially low price!

We currently have a highly discriminatory system where if you’re sick, if you’ve been sick or [if] you’re going to get sick, you cannot get health insurance.

The only way to end that discriminatory system is to bring everyone into the system and pay one fair price. That means that the genetic winners, the lottery winners who’ve been paying an artificially low price because of this discrimination now will have to pay more in return. And that, by my estimate, is about four million people. In return, we’ll have a fixed system where over 30 million people will now for the first time be able to access fairly price and guaranteed health insurance.

  1. But on a serious note, how exactly does someone else paying more for a service or product make it fair that I’m paying more? Wouldn’t fairness be both of us pay less? And I’m no mathematician, but if 4m people are going to pay more so 30m canpay less, it seems those 4m will have to pay a lot, lot, LOT more.

  2. And those ‘lottery winners’ be the ones on Medicaid who pay nothing. Now, threr will be even more on Medicaid, hastening the bankruptcy of the respective States.

Whoever wrote those words is an idiot and deserves to be flushed.

  3. Why should “lottery winners” who drive carefully and obey traffic laws pay a lower auto insurance rate that idiots who speed, or don’t pay attention and have a lot of accidents? Shouldn’t all drivers have to pay one premium? Why shouldn’t good drivers subsidize poor drivers?
Why should “lottery winners” who maintain their homes and make repairs as soon as a problem is noticed, and who bought homeowners insurance when they first got their house, be allowed insurance, when someone who waits until their house is on fire is not allowed to buy insurance at that time? And, shouldn’t those with the foresight to purchase homeowner’s insurance be forced to subsidize those who neglected to purchase insurance?
It is obvious the douchebag Harvey quoted doesn’t know the first thing about what insurance is and how it works.

  4. Yeah, it’s genetics when a drunk gets cirrhosis! Darn that genetics for getting all those women pregnant out of wedlock! Genetics causes AIDS, syphilis, and all the rest! Genetics makes you fat! It makes you jump off the roof while high on meth! Genetics makes you drive a motorcycle in the rain in bad neighborhoods! Genetics is the cause of all the health problems in the world!

  5. Hmmmmm, 4 million just happens to be 1.3%….it’s ….those people again.

I’m pretty sure they’re already paying for way more then 30 million people’s “free” insurance.

Health care spending in the United States totaled nearly $2.6 trillion in 2010. Of total spending, half (51 percent) goes to pay the cost of medical services provided by hospitals and physicians.

The other 49% went to people like this.
