I use the google navigator almost every day. It is especially helpful when I get a to a freewy off ramp and hear “gps signal lost”. Or driving around a busy downtown area, when the navigator is certain I am 2 blocks to my left. The thought of having something like that actually drive my car is something that would only make sense someplace like Palo Alto. Incidentally, the same city where Google navigator took me off the freeway going west (through the Google complex) instead of going east, to my destination.

A car going off a cliff doesn’t need a steering wheel, gas pedal, or brake pedal. It will drive itself to the bottom just fine.

@6 DonP – I always bring a local map of my destination just in case of signal loss or computer confusion.
