- Instituted policies resulting in the deaths of countless unborn babies
- Engaged in diplomacy that allowed Hitler to consolidate power and start WWII
- Instituted policies which resulted in the sick and the elderly dying while waiting for their free care to arrive
- Instituting policies to ban DDT, resulting in the deaths of millions of African children annually from malaria
- Instituting policies to ban GMO crops, resulting in the starvation of millions of Africans annually

You really low-balled Stalin’s death toll. Last I heard, it was closer to 60,000,000. Maybe 20,000,000 were directly shot by the NKVD, but that doesn’t take into account the millions of people starved to death, or the many millions of people worked to death in the gulags.
The exact death toll may never be known. We do know that it’s higher than a hippie in Colorado. Liberal/leftists/socialists tend to be very bureaucratic and have reams of paperwork just to nip down the hall to the restroom and powder your nose. Records undoubtedly existed at one time, but it remains to be seen how many were hidden, destroyed, falsified, etc. I don’t know what it is about bureaucrats, but the worst atrocities seem to be committed by the most bureaucratic regimes. Maybe it’s because all the paperwork, with its inevitable ID numbers, PINs and whatnot, make it very easy to forget/pretend that it all represents a human life. Of course, such regimes generally put a very low value on human life. The state becomes everything and everything must be done with its best interests, or at least the best interests of those in power, in mind. They really aren’t far, if at all, removed from the kind of person who becomes a terrorist (for some reason the pesky masses refuse to believe that they are being destroyed for their own good).
