  1. Two things…1) What a waste of ammunition. And 2) Lest any non-gun owners be misled, 2000 rounds is a reasonable and prudent amount to keep on hand if you own one rifle. Were the supply chain more robust, it might not need to be the case; but with foreign policy-led import restrictions and periodic hysteria over high-profile crime, that’s the way it is these days. And note that nothing went zinging into the next county – for that you need a rifled gun barrel.

  2. I always wondered how they did that (my Reserve unit spent some time supporting an engineer group who was improving the roads in an ammo dump, and got to see outdated ammo being disposed of several times from a distance).
