  1. One of my biggest problems with this story has to do with personal pride. So here comes the bragging: I’m over 50, but back when I was a mere lad of 13 I used to raid my local Radio Shack for broken digital clocks and repair them all the time due to the twin impelling forces of boredom and curiosity.

And since I don’t approve of the way Ahmed went about it, I guess that means I’m the kind of hypocrite who was “for repackaging Radio Shack digital clocks before I was against it”.

Never claimed to INVENT them though…

I also brought a working home-made alcohol-producing still to school in elementary school and a home-made gun to school for a science fair project in junior high, without anyone freaking out, calling in a SWAT team, or gaining the President’s attention.

I’m not sure if I’m still relieved about this, or jealous. Probably a bit of both.

Oh well, I think Ahmed trolled everyone and I think the only reason he’s gotten this far with it is because of the “let’s not dare offend the Muslims” bias of our media.

Yeah, I’m stating the painfully obvious there, aren’t I?

  2. …doesn’t this fall under the “yelling “fire” in a crowded theater” clause?

Call me crazy, but if my white male child brought a project he’s been working on to school – a flashlight that happens to look like a handgun and shines a light out of the “barrel” (so that it needs to be pointed at whatever it is you want to illuminate), and spent the day demonstrating it by lighting up various people at school, I would not expect that he would be dining with the President and Pope tonight.
