  1. Basil wants jokes again, so I’ll oblige (before telling you about today’s birthday):

An actuary is somebody who wanted to be a CPA but didn’t have the sparkling personality necessary.

Alexander Graham Bell, who invented the first practical telephone, was born March 3, 1847, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Here’s a song from Mike Craver, formerly of the Red Clay Ramblers, about it:

  2. I know this is nothing to do with anything but in Texas we are in primary season and its all just a bunch of Republicans saying they’re Christian, conservative, sucking up to Trump, and accusing the opponent (who is also a Republican) of being a liberal who wants to legalize Mexicans and kill babies.

Really?? is that all politics is now?

we have one guy accusing a candidate of voting for Hillary and therefore shes a baby-killing do-nothing housewife trying to use her husband’s money to buy a congressional seat because she participated in Rush Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos” while the candidate accusing her headed and made millions in a “non-profit” that collected Federal subsidies from Obama era green programs and praised them.

…. but every add is basically “hi Im the REAL conservative who loves guns abd babies and hates Mexicans and my opponent is a liberal so if you vote for him you may as well be voting for communism and you’re going to make Trump cry”.

at this point I’m willing to vote for anyone who runs a positive ad.

in the plus side, looks like P. Bush is getting primaried because he’s trying to rewrite the history of the Alamo….so there’s that.

sorry its been one of those weeks where you’re not really sure why you’re still voting republican. i needed to vent.
