Trump Says He Will Give “Big Political Speech” Thursday, Promises “Many Giant Rallies”
The Hill | 01-19-2023

Former President Trump teased a “big political speech” he planned to deliver on Thursday, promising rallies and “wild and exciting” events for supporters as he rolls out his 2024 presidential campaign.

“Making a big political speech today at TRUMP DORAL, in Miami,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday morning while claiming the media has accused him of “not campaigning very hard.”

Hey! Danone! Leave Those Cows Alone!

French Dairy Giant Considers Cow Masking to Tackle Methane Emissions
Breitbart | 01-18-2023 | Simon Kent

French dairy giant Danone said Tuesday it wants to slash methane emissions by 30 percent within seven years, pointing to the way the cows it uses are raised, handled, and milked as ripe for change.

AFP reports Danone said it would seek the cuts by 2030 using cow breeds that emit less methane, improving cow diets, prolonging their milking periods and capturing emissions from manure to be used for biogas, for example.

The company is also looking at innovative solutions to help reduce emissions including a cow mask that can trap burp gases, the report continues.

  1. How long do these masks take to get filled to capacity?
  2. How are they emptied?
  3. Why am I asking you?

FEMA’s Help for Alaska Natives Had Mistranslations, Nonsense
AP | 13 Jan 2023 | Mark Thiessen

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — After tidal surges and high winds from the remnants of a rare typhoon caused extensive damage to homes along Alaska’s western coast in September, the U.S. government stepped in to help residents — largely Alaska Natives — repair property damage.

Residents who opened Federal Emergency Management Agency paperwork expecting to find instructions on how to file for aid in Alaska Native languages like Yup’ik or Inupiaq instead were reading bizarre phrases.

“Tomorrow he will go hunting very early, and will (bring) nothing,” read one passage. The translator randomly added the word “Alaska” in the middle of the sentence.

“Your husband is a polar bear, skinny,” another said.

McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 announced the British supercar maker’s foray into modern racing when it was unveiled in 1992. Six years later, it set the record for the world’s fastest production car, at 242 mph. “The McLaren F1 was Formula One legend Gordon Murray’s high-tech supercar answer to Porsche and Ferrari,” Hagerty says. “And it didn’t just exceed the standards they established, it obliterated them. Driving an F1 is a sublime ballet of shocking power, braking, and control.” McLaren only built 64 of these, but fortunately, it just put up for sale chassis #69, the 60th model built. Volvo P1800

The quirky Volvo P1800 was stylish enough for Roger Moore to drive one in the spy thriller TV series The Saint. This two-seater sports car is durable: one surviving model has clocked more than three million miles. Its brethren belong to private owners, but check with the Volvo Owners Clubs if you’d like to find one for sale or make an owner an offer.

Wait — There’d Still Be Real Live Interns, Right?

90% of Online Content Could Be ‘Generated by AI by 2025’ Expert Says
Yahoo Finance | 1/15/23 | Alexandra Garfinkle

Generative AI, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, could completely revamp how digital content is developed, said Nina Schick, adviser, speaker, and A.I. thought leader told Yahoo Finance Live (video above).

“I think we might reach 90% of online content generated by AI by 2025, so this technology is exponential,” she said. “I believe that the majority of digital content is going to start to be produced by AI. You see ChatGPT… but there are a whole plethora of other platforms and applications that are coming up.”

The surge of interest in OpenAI’s DALL-E and ChatGPT has facilitated a wide-ranging public discussion about AI and its expanding role in our world, particularly generative AI.

“ChatGPT has really captured the public imagination in an extremely compelling way, but I think in a few months’ time, ChatGPT is just going to be seen as another tool powered by this new form of AI, known as generative AI,” she said.

It’s important to understand what exactly generative AI is – and what it isn’t.

“What generative AI can do, essentially, is create new things that would have thus far been seen as unique to human intelligence or creativity,” she said. “Generative AI can create across all media, so text, video, audio, pictures – every digital medium can be powered by generative AI. So, I think these valuations that you’re seeing for OpenAI are actually going to go up and you’re going to start to see even more generative AI companies which have universal applications across many industries in 2023.”

Sure, A.I. might be able to generate Blazing Saddles jokes, but it would probably balk at creating stories involving Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.
