I Want to Be Sworn in on Jane’s Guide to Guns

Some conservatives have been making a big deal about how newly elected Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison wants to swear in on the Koran instead of the Bible. In a smart political move, Ellison has decided to use Thomas Jefferson’s Koran (it’s from Jefferson’s rebellious Muslim phase when he was growing up in Marin County, California).
To me, all this swearing in controversy is just wasted energy because you either elected a crook or you didn’t. Apparently, some people are worried that, because Ellison is Muslim, as soon as he’s sworn in he’s going to eat everyone’s candy… unless he’s forced to swear in on a Bible and thus bound by the power of Christ to only do good (just like all other elected officials).
Whatever. People really shouldn’t be worried about some Muslim takeover or Sharia being imposed on us as soon as Nancy Pelosi gets her boney grip on the House. Ellison is a Democrat and probably a liberal, and we all know how liberals never take their purported religions seriously. You know how some claim to be devout Christians yet have weasely reasoning why abortion and gay marriage is okay despite what the Bible says? Well, I bet Ellison has some weasely reasoning on why he doesn’t have to kill Jews despite the Koran explicitly telling him to.
So chill, yo.

  1. would that have been the same Koran he used to determine if they would ever uphold any treaties they signed, or if there could ever be peace with the practitioners of “the religion of peace”®?
As in just before he sent in the US Navy and the Marines? (you know, the whole “Shores of Tripoli…” bit)

  2. I cahn’t believe that theah is such a big tadoo about Ellison being swohn in with his hand on the Koran (burp, belch)! We democrahts welcome with open ahms this avowed jew hater and protege of Louis Farrakan (burb). That is diversity for you! (puke).

  3. I found it interesting that Jefferson had a Koran…kind of takes the sting out of the question on not using the bible doesn’t it.
What disturbs me is that we now have an elected official whose mood determines his interpretation of his holy book…
Monday AM: Rolled over, wife was willing, praise Allah, today I shall be a member of the religion of peace…
Tuesday AM: That time of the unclean cycle for my wife whore, feels like a good day to kill the infidel (note to self: Submit bill to kill joos and american infidels, stone wife for being unclean and not a virgin)…
My prophet says judge not, his prophet says, if you don’t follow my rules you should die…
Praise Allah all you want, but once you start passing the ammunition, don’t be surprised at facing the barrel of a gun (or tip of a smartbomb).
He may be a good man (although being a politican brings that automatically into question), and have moderate leanings, but some group of idiots somewhere voted in a follower of a religion whose individual/group interetations of its premises are contrary to the very foundations our country was founded on. There could be a reason that the Koran was available for reference, yet there is no mention of Allah (or stoning rape victims) anywhere in our founding fathers documents.

I heard that Jefferson collected diverse books…mostly so he could scribble crude drawings on the pages, then rip them out so he could wipe his bum with them…
Well, that last part might be a stretch…

  5. Why didn’t he just swear on a Koran from one of the Flying Imams that he met with the night before their shenanigans? Then he could’ve flipped to the middle, pulled out the ceramic knife and cut Nancy Pelosi’s throat!
Oh wait, she’s on their side…

  6. I love it. A muslim crying out to be sworn in on the Queer-on. Is just a little bit less preposterous than swearing in John Wayne Gacy as the head of the Boyscouts.
Incidentally, Gacy was a staunch member of the Democrat party.
