  1. Your piece at least implies that the gas lines and the occupation of our embassy in Teheran happened early in the Carter administration. The gas lines were in early spring of 1979; the occupation of the embassy, later in 1979. Had they happened early in the Carter administration, they might possibly have been blamed on Gerald Ford’s policies and actions. Happening more than two years into Carter’s presidency (if that’s the right term for it), they were clearly Carter’s fault.

I can think of only one good thing that Carter did. By being such a sanctimonious nag and incompetent fool, he assured Ronald Reagan’s election.

[So was that the only inaccuracy? 😛 -Ed.]

  2. Since I was 30 when Carter was elected I remember those years vividly, even though I have tried to block them out.

IMO, what we are currently experiencing is what a second Carter term would have looked like. Jimma gave us the CRA which is at the heart of our current financial demise, had us all wearing sweaters and shivering in the dark (it wasn’t called Green yet), established the Energy department which made us energy independent, established the Education department which put American education permanently on top, signed the Camp David Accords resulting in a permanent peace in the ME, gave away the Panama Canal, but he didn’t take over any businesses, Wall St, banks, or the medical industry.

Dumbo is bringing the coup de grace to the constitution and the American way of life. He’s definitely gonna’ top the “Pain from Plains”!

  3. Who is this carter you speak of? I remeber vividly that between 1976 and 1980, we had a big clump of gelatin in the White House. The clump had no spine, no brain, and was totally clueless that helicopters do not do well in sand. I remember sitting in line overheating to fill up the car, I remeber gas going from 26 cents a gallon to 78 cents a gallon in a month. I remember not being able to afford a house or car because interest rates were in the double digits. But I don’t remember the U.S. having a president at that time. very similar to today, we don’t have a president, we have a steaming pile of commie feces, but will it be worse than the clump-o-gelatin? Yes.

  4. I remember Jimmah as governor. He effectively tripled the state’s budget. So we got tired of him and sent him up to DC as revenge for the civil war. Inflation, failure, weakness, international humiliation, stupidity, and fear of rabbits.

A hotel in downtaon Atlanta had a billboard up for months “Rabbits 1, Carter 0”.

The ONLY good thing about Jimmah was that kicked Ted Kwnnedy’s a@@ in the run for president.

Obozo is no better. I’d say it is about a tie.

  5. Look Frank, don’t jump the gun here like the nobel prize committee. His presidency is too young to earn the title “worse than carter.” we have 3 and 1/4 more years for him to earn that kind of label. give the kid time.

  6. As bad as Carter? Not yet, but the repercussions of electing a Democrat majority in the House and Senate gives him the potential to be worse
in terms of future misery to our children’s children’s children. I don’t think O-bah-muhh is as raaaaacist as Jimma Carter. Jimma didn’t think he
had to be in front of the cameras every other day, and never solicited the Emperor Worship that O-bah-muhh has come to expect.
We still had a manufacturing base in the days of Carter, but the manufacturing base left the U.S. before O-bah-muhh, so we can only judge
what he does to the remainder of the economy, such as it is. So far, he reminds me of the Peronistas of Argentina.
On a bright note, I believe O-bah-muhh provides numerous opportunities for comedic relief. Too bad the Libtards have declared it off limits. Guess it’s up to Conservatives to mine the comedic gold.
Oh, in Carter’s day, it was very bad to be a racist. Now under O-bah-muhh, everyone that disagrees with the President is a Raaaaacist!, so I think the meaning of the word has changed since O-bah-muhh was elected.

  7. Luke 12:47-48 (KJV)
“And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”

Comparing Carter and Obama is like comparing George and Lenny from ‘Of Mice and Men’.
George should have known better, but Lenny was more dangerous.
