amazon has a music club where they don’t send you stuff without you asking for it. it’s called CDNow, and their cds run around 9.99. they have a lot of specials for 7.99, too. not all of their cds are featured in it, but a lot of them are. and like any other amazon purchase, they do free shipping on orders over $25. hmm, can you tell i’m an addict?
if you want to download specific tracks, i think walmart’s is the cheapest, but i haven’t tried it. i use Napster and occasionally iTunes.
Have to go with half.com. I just bought 3 CD’s for 12 bucks last night, and that’s AFTER shipping. You can find some pretty darn good deals on there. I’ve come to rely on it so much I’ll never spend more than $7.99 on a single CD ever again. Ever.
You hear me, RIAA?! EVER!!!
I just used Djangos.com and got the cds a couple of days later. They apparently have a network of retail new & used stores all over and keep a database of who has what. Your cd might be mailed from anywhere. Some of the songs have clips you can listen to online before you buy.
I’s satisfied so far. It is easy to shop all of the above services to find the cheapest price.
Good luck
amazon
barnes & noble online (join the bnmember thingie and get an additional 5% off as well as periodic specials)
cdnow
half.com (almost all of them send media mail, though… slow as hell. usually, you can upgrade the shipping for a small fee)
and of course, probably the best place (watch the bastards on the shipping and handling, though… some of them charge you an outrageous amount simply because they’re letting the CD’s go at a tiny price…. NEVER pay more than $3 for shipping within the continental US and that had better be for shipping AND handling. Also, never let them send anything Media Mail… it takes forever): ebay. I’ve gotten brand-new, still wrapped CD’s for less than $1 on ebay.
as a general rule with a new release, hike your ass to the stores (Newbury Comics rules in this area, I don’t know if they’re down there….) and get the new release sale for like $9 or $10, then you HAVE it and don’t have to wait.
BMGmusic.com is where I get most of my CD’s, you can usually get some good deals if you buy in bulk (say 2-4 each time).
I think the opening offer is 12 CD’s for the price of one, and you only have to buy one more, at regular price, after that. So its a pretty good deal. They have a huge selection, plus if you tell them I sent you, I get some free CD’s. SO CHOOSE BMG!

iTunes, Frank. It’s time you got brought into the modern era. Buy your music online and get it Right Then. No waiting.
Let me explain again; I need non-burned CD’s for work.
Buy them from the Amazon Marketplace. They have used and new cd’s – pretty cheap.
Half.com. Good tunes cheap!
Overstock.com has a plethora of discounted titles, even some rare jewels in $1 bin if you dig deep enough.
Amazon, used

http://www.cdbaby.com for unsigned or not well known artists. More money goes to the artist through them…
I just buy from the “used and new” section of amazon. My latest cd cost me $3.37.
Amazon, I’ve actually received some great deals off FYE online.
Record & Tape Traders, if you have one. Or Amazon.
I also would suggest Linkin Park’s new CD Meteora
