Hooray! The “Assault Weapon” Ban sunsets today. Now I can… well… actually, none of the guns banned I wanted anyway (and if I did, I could have just bought pre-ban versions). All that really affects me is there is no longer a 10rd limit on newly made magazines. Finally, I can get that AR-15 with 90rd drum cheaply. Now that there is some good homeland defense! It’ll be my “In Case Civilized Society Collapses” gun; everyone should have one. It’s just the smart thing to do.
BTW, here was a top ten list I did about Assault Weapons (real ones, not the quote/unquote “assault weapons” banned by the AWB).

When I keep reading all the articles from the MSM… they keep saying that AK-47s, M16s, uzis, ect will be allowed for purchase now, which is incorrect. The MSM is attempting to be political and play into the fears of people, I have been arguing with people on campus already, the PSA (Progessive Student Alliance) is going on and on about the “tragedy” that is the expiration of the AWB… and yet they have no clue what the hell they are talking about.
Dreadlocked, grimy scum (a.k.a PSA member): “Now people will be able to buy AK47s and be able to spray down swaths of death with fully automatic fire.”
Me (speaking up at this point because I’m fed up): “No, No NO NO NO! Fully automatic weapons are still banned, they have been banned since 1934 or so. This ban was to get rid of semiautomatic rifles that looked like or functioned simliar to military weapons.”
PSA retard: “Why are you supporting these evil war mongering companies like Colt and bushmaster arms, that are allowing drug dealers to purchase machine guns so they can kill innocent kids on the street?”
Me (while I’m wearing my Connecticut State Service rifle Junior team shirt) : “You are wrong on that. The only people who profit from the sale of fully automatic weapons to criminals are generally illegal arms smugglers that are not in any way related to the companies you stated.”

The assault weapon ban expires, AND it’s my birthday! Hopefully in the next week I’ll be ordering my new 12 gauge 870 and 30-06 Model 700 rifle.

My favorite assault weapon — My Remington 870 fully rifled 12 ga. slug gun. Nothing better than 1.5 oz of solid lead sabots times five! I like big hunks of lead, lots of knock down power. Longer ranges, past 100yrds, I back up with my Winchester 1894 .30-30, times seven.
You don’t want a “real” M-4 Frank? That’s the biggest reason I am excited that the ban is ending. The non-collapsible collapsible stock previously put on M-4 clones pissd me off, as did the idiocy of not being able to have a flash suppressor vs. a compensator…
Oh yeah, and don’t forget the prohibition on bayonet lugs. Because of all the people who have been killed by bayonets.

John Kerry is saying that President Bush didn’t do enough to continue the assault weapons ban. Why didn’t he– a Senator, in case you all forgot what he did after Vietnam– bring it up in Congress, where they make these laws?
Get a Beta C mag, hols 100 rounds and is smaller than those Chi-Com 90 round’ers. and if you get an AR-15, also get an HK-91 or M1A Scout. you need something with more power sometimes in a Crap hits the Fan event. also i’d skip the AR-15 and just get an SAR-1 (semi-auto AK-47) and an M1A Scout.

Spend the extra bucks and buy a Beta-Mag. Two snail drums, side be side. Each holding 50 rounds. With a left-right feed system that keeps the weight centered and balanced.
Plus the Beta-Mag is no taller than a standard 20 round magazine.
