D’oh!

I completely forgot about the President’s speech last night. Since I now have Tivo, I never check the TV schedule and instead just depend on Tivo to catch all I want to see. I ended up spending last night watching CSI: Miami with my sweetie (it was a rerun of when Speedle got killed – hadn’t seen it). It’s certainly easy to find what the blogosphere thinks, but I want to hear my readers’ impressions. Please put them in the comments.

  1. He said the same things he’s been saying for 3 1/2 years. Terrorists = BAD – we’ll keep killin’ ’em, Democracy = GOOD – we’ll keep spreadin’ it. I understood all this when he gave his “Axis of Evil” speech and he hasn’t changed anything since. Great speech!

  2. I thought the speech demonstrated the President’s continued resolve to his beliefs.
Thankfully those beliefs involve killing terrorists!
On a sidenote I got into a discussion with a dumb-ass liberal over at slashdot.org who says 9/11 “wasn’t that big a deal” Feel free to make your opinions know to this dumb-tard here
Note: I post as “shadowknot” on /.

  3. I thought the speech was an excellent description of what we’ve done up to date in the War on Terror and what still needs to be done. I think President Bush made it extremely clear that we weren’t just going to do the job halfway. We made a resolution to destroy the terrorists and their supporters, and we’re going to follow through. But, the sad part is the people the speech was aimed at (i.e. liberals, democrats, and other idiots) either didn’t pay any attention or will try every which way to twist and misconstue President Bush’s meaning.

  4. Great speech. Very Winston Churchill-ish, without the annoying “NEVuuauuauuh”s.
Very Ronald Reagan-ish, slapped all the Dems’ accusations around the room.
In fact, just very George W. Bush-ish.

  5. George Bush spoke the truth, clearly laying out what needs to happen.
The Democrats? Gave themsleves wedgies, whining, pissing, and moaning about hos it’s too hard, and repeating the demands of the terrorists – demand a timetable for withdraw. Oh, plus, they’re not at all happy we’re spending money in Iraq that they could use for things like paying drug addicted single mothers to have more babies, or to think tank other ways to release sexual predators from prisons so that more future upstanding children can be raped and killed.
    Guess that’s about it.

  6. Maybe if I record my impressions onto mp3 and podcast them you can hear them. But it’s too much trouble since they aren’t very good impressions after all. My Nixon sounds like Jimmy Stewart or vice versa (Jimmy, not Martha)…

  7. It was a good speech, I thought it was boring. I think the best part was after the speech watching him shake hands with soldiers. Is it just me, or can you really tell that the soldiers like him? I always got the impression they were tolerating Clinton.
