It seems pretty certain there are going to be Supreme Court vacancy pretty soon, so I wonder who the next justice(s) should be? I nominate Mr. T.
What do you think?
I hate to offer such a radical position, but it really doesn’t matter. for two reasons.
First, Just because a conservative president nominates (and has confirmed) a judge doesn’t mean that judge will vote conservative. Sadly, seven out of the present nine were appointed by Republicans.
Second, the ones set to retire are Renquist and O’connor. Both relatively conservative. It would be the equivalent of taking salt out of a recipe and putting salt in its place. If we are to make any progress with the judiciary (not likely, see first point), a judge like Kennedy or Souter would have to step down.
Sorry to rain on the parade.
Maybe Bush should nominate me. I don’t have a law degree, so when it came to ruling on a case, I wouldn’t have all those stupid, convaluted legal jargons getting in the way of common sense. Jonathan for Supreme Court Justice!
“the ones set to retire are Renquist and O’connor. Both relatively conservative…”
We could argue over how conservative O’Connor has been, but it would be fruitless.
Ever read “The Pelican Brief?” There’s more than one way to appoint judges to the bench.
This really only works if the President were to, on television, with a straight face, present his nomination personally at the Capital building before all of Congress…
John “Gitmo” Ashcroft.
Why, there would be no problem with cloture, as half the Jackasses (hey, it IS correct terminology AND its their chosen mascot, how appropriate?) suffer death by apoplexy.
I pity the fool.

Clinger, ’cause he only pretends to be one of them.
I nominate Glen Reynolds – we need to clear up the constitutional question of puppy blending once and for all!
I nominate Ann Coulter. That way at the senate hearings or shall we say senate shoutings she could just bitch slap Ted Kennedy out of the ball park.
Frylock or Meatwad. Definitley not Master Shake, though. He can be a tool.
Janice Rogers Brown is my realistic vote.
But otherwise I’d have to say the Boondock Saints.
I nominate Frank!

Serious: Janice Rodgers Brown
Ideal: Brian Griffin(dog from Family Guy)
I nominate Optimus Prime.
Autobots transform and roll-out!!!
I also nominate Moe. Any dissent and It’s eye pokes and slaps for everyone.
What about ALF.
Or Glomer from the Punky Brewster cartoon?
I nominate John Hinderaker; Scott Johnson; and Paul Mirengoff of Powerline fame.
Oooh, and I second the nomination of Anne Coulter.
I nominate Buck the Marine and third the nomination of Ann Coulter.
ooo wait! The Rumsfeld Strangler and Karl Rove!
Judge Dread.
I second both Connor and Murphy McManus (The Boondock Saints) and Ann Coulter. Arthur Chrenkoff too, but he’s an Aussie..ah, yeah, Arthur still.
Seriously: Alex Kosinski
Somewhat less seriously: Teddy Kennedy. Then Mitt Romney appoints a Republican senator, and Teddy’s liver implodes.
Judge Judy.
Damn it!!!
I would have to go with Kramer.
Hey, could Dubya nominate himself?

someone who looks good in a cape? Aqua man?
I nominate John Bolton. Maybe he will yell at Ginsberg and kick her ass.
