Finally, Someone Admits My Literacy

Guess who wrote this to John Derbyshire.
I was only joshing him because of all the hate mail he was getting for taking Kerry’s side.
And he should admit it!
UPDATE:
Before people get too angry at Derb, I should mention that he did know I was joking. And be careful with him; he almost beat up Bruce Lee!

  1. Way back in 1725 (more than 100 years before the potato failed in Ireland) Johnny Swift wrote ( in “A Modest Proposal”) that instead of letting poor Irish children starve, the English (those in charge) should simply send them to the country, fatten them up and eat them. He maintained it was as humane as letting them starve to death. Some people (literalist, I suppose -or just stupid) thought he was serious.
Some people just don’t get the joke Frank, ever. No matter how many times you explain it, no matter how many different ways you tell it. But it is not for them that satire is written. It is for those, who are enlightened, urbane, refined and revolting, to hone satire to a razor point.
    Bless you.

  2. Let me get this straight… Derb can watch the video of Kerry and come to the conclusion that the degrading comment was simple a bad joke. However, Derb not only fails to recognize a joke in his mailbox, but then goes out of his way to prove to the world that he missed the joke.
How can anyone take Derb seriously?
