Hmmm IMAO On TV! FOX Even!

Could the crew here at IMAO make a go at a Daily Show-esque” comedic news type TV show? I can be very silly. So can most of us.
I’d love to interview me some Democrats. And I don’t necessarily mean I’d commit any violence against them by that statement. Of course I must have been thinking about violence or I probably wouldn’t have felt a need to clear that up. Anyway, I promise make a conscious effort to appear to be nonviolent.
Hey, this would be a great way to promote a book. (hint, hint Frank J)
I think maybe that it could work. I, for one, would need ridiculously obscene amounts of cash though and of course people to cater to my every whim for my amusement. I’d need my very own gravy chef. And My Right Foot would have its own closet full of shoe.
At least Jay Tea at Wizbang thinks we might could do it.
I know we’d need someone to run the cameras. And we’d all need to be better looking except for Sarahk.
I’d love to hear from the rest of the crew at IMAO on this.
I can’t decide whether to ask you What do you think, what else to demand or what else we need to make this work.
So take your pick,. and no fair saying we’re unattractive, I’ve already called that one.

  1. Nope,
Sorry, you guy’s aren’t ready for TV. Stick with what you’re good at. If you want a direction to work toward, try to improve the podcasts and keep it short for now. Right now, I think you need even more funny visuals for the web site, to go along with all the written madness. I think that would be the most direct way to widen your audience base.

  2. You cannot be serious…
None of you have any professional experience in on-camera presentation, you have no idea how to attract audience share, and you have not been able to maintain a regular output schedule for your previous foray into non-blog entertainment (podcasting).
Realistically speaking, no TV production company wanting to make a run against the very professionally produced and marketed liberal offerings like The Daily Show and Colbert Report would take a chance on you just because you are political conservatives with a humor blog.
You’ve got to prove your worth. Start producing a funny video show every week for this blog first. If it takes off and consistently gets 200,000 downloads from GooTube, THEN you might have a shot at it.
Either you lose or you fail, but you have to do it yourselves because NOBODY ELSE WILL DO IT FOR YOU.
    Just do it.

  3. Can’t help noticing that Ducky is not doing his part to quell the “Lazy Mexican” stereotype.
But unless the quality of video improves drastically from the recent offerings from Frank J and Fake Spacemonkey, then definitely NO.

  4. Realistically, in terms of the volume and quality of work, you guys are GREAT writers for comedy – you are (at least the ones of you whose pictures have shown up here and there) are certainly attractive enough to be correspondents. Frank’s Joel Hodges of MST3K comedic qualities on film would absolutely work (with some practice). None of the rest of you have been on camera to judge. I’d suggest doing maybe monthly remote correspondent pieces while keeping IMAO/etc up and running, and then if they want you more often they’ll arrange it.

  5. I’d be a regular viewer if you did, but make sure you post a WMP link ’cause I can’t download Flash at work.
Thing is, Kent probably has the best idea as far as airing intervals, so we don’t miss you here online. Maybe you could buy some time on a local public access channel and air your results. It could catch on, like in Wayne’s World.
You could do a spot called, “The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” where you send an undercover correspondant to infiltrate known liberal gatherings and secretly film their craziness for entertainment purposes.
Just promise us if you get all celebrity-ized, you won’t turn insane like Tom Cruise.
