Sacrifice? What the hell is that? I was educated in the Arizona Public School system, so values like responsibility, sacrifice, integrity and honor are foreign to me.
Thankfully my parents were actually involved in parenting and I learned these things elsewhere.
“It only stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of service and sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.”
-Ayn Rand, 1943, The Fountainhead
contrast that to this…
“But it’s not going to be easy. It’s not going to be quick. It is going to be requiring all of us — Democrats, Republicans, independents — to come together and to renew a spirit of sacrifice and service and responsibility.”
It’s funny how Service, Sacrifice and Responsibility come out only when the Dhimmicrats are in power and are using them as code words for “Bend Over and take what we’re about to slip you.” Why were these not virtues when the jibbering, feces -throwing apes were railing against Bush and demanding their free stuff and the such.
If we’ve been sacrificing, being of service, and acting all responsible and such for, say, all our lives, do we ever get to take a break and let someone else do it for a little while?
I don’t really want to come together with the Dumbocrats and I have a hard time understanding what’s to REnew when there wasn’t anything new with them to begin with.
Don’t forget the accountants to account for it, Harvey. And the banks to hold on to it for us and loan it back out. Oh, and the lawyers to set the rules for the accountants and the banks and then clean up after the sacrifice has been made, collected, accounted for, stored and finally, fought over.
Harvey, again, you are concise and clear and spot-on! When somebody with clean, soft hands and a crisp shirt tells us that “we have to sacrifice”, you can bet he has a mouse in his pocket!
Democrats always think that if everyone gets a little more misery, some cosmic debt will be paid. That’s why when Democrats get in power, the first thing they tell us is to stop expecting so much and get used to the fact that life is going to be grimmer.
Barack Obama is a reincarnated Jimmy Carter and Jimmy’s not even dead yet. Although that argument can be made.
Being forced to sacrifice is not a sacrifice…it is a punishment.

you’re spot on, harvey.

If Barack Obama is another Jimmy Carter, do you think we’re gonna get another Ronald Reagan?
