Sorry to take so long on this, but I’m busy. Anyway, here are the entries for a logo to the Republican Underground (and hopefully I’m not missing any as I didn’t organize this well). Anyway, tell me what you think. Maybe we can use one as a stamp on Republican Underground posts:
Luke:

Josh:

Evan

Russ:

Brian L. had two:

Frankly, I like the simplicity of rocket launchers on an elephant. What do you think?

I’m kind of a fan of the “Pay for it with your own money” logo, but the elephant running down the donkey is great.
I like Josh’s submission, personally
My vote goes to the first one.
I’m famous now.
I’m changing my vote. Patrick’s second submission is great.
I notice several with kanji added. I took basic Japanese, but I had to drop out (family matters) before we could cover kanji. Could someone please translate?
I like Russ’s the Best!!! The Elephant holding on to the Rhino.
I’m pretty sure the kanji say Ronin. Also, I vote for the second one.
I think we should go with Patrick’s Middle logo entry. Elegant in it’s simplicity, yet incredibly effective in getting the spirit of the movement across.
Wonderfulness…I vote for Patrick’s second submission.
I would have to vote for Patrick’s second one also, maybe with the words in red instead of all black and white. (and maybe the ronin kanji etched in the 1911’s grips.)
Most of the rest (including my own) are more comedy driven and a little large for logo use.
#1 gets my vote
Patrick’s second one wins hands-down.
I vote for the first one. No words necessary – we know what it means.
“Pay for it with your own money, bitch” gets my vote every time.
i like anything with rocket launchers on it. But, I’d like to mention, that I’ve never seen a rocket launcher. Only rocket launchers of somebody comic imaginings, so when I see the elephant with the rocket launchers on top, I think, “What are those things on top of there?” But I’m a girl…um, excuse me, Woman. And Lady.
To the point: it’s possible some people will not know what those things are on top of the elephant.
Kudos to the “Pay for it with your own money….” That is my favorite. But there’s no rocket launcher on it.
Frank! I have a submission. Let me get done with class and I’ll get it to you.
[No. I will never let you get done with class. -Ed.]
Patrick’s 2nd submission hands down. And, I second Russ’s idea to add the Ronin kanji to the 1911.
Josh’s by a land slide!
I like Patrick’s first or second submission.
I vote for Moon Nukers Anonymous then the first elephant w/ rockets
I like Patrick’s first one with the elephant and the name. I think that simpler is better. Too many of these other ones are just way too much. The logo shouldn’t be anything too out there because it will just take away from the site. We should take a page from the moonbats and present ourselves as just a mainstream organization, but the content will speak for itself..
I would vote for Patrick’s second logo using the gun if we were voting on which one to use. I can actually see putting that one on my truck as a bumper sticker. I also vote for adding the “Ronin” characters somewhere on the gun.
Luke’s elephant with rocket launchers is next.
In any event that mine is chosen there’s no reason I can’t alter it to specifications. Just thought I’d mention that.
job! peoples!
my vote goes to Josh’s logo
Simplicity works best, so I’d favor just having the symbols (is that Chinese or what language is it?). Having said that, I like Russ’ best, hanging the RINO out to dry. The gun to the head of the hippie is cool, but likely to be misunderstood.
Cool. I like Patrick’s submission. Maybe we could do a hybrid between Patrick’s first one and mine? The military elephant instead of the red and blue elephant, might work.
Patrick’s second logo is great – and changing the RWB elephant the camo elephant is a superb idea.
I vote Patrick’s second one.
We get to vote again? Cool. But I’m sticking with Default McPalin.
Oh, sorry, wrong topic.
I like Josh’s submission (#2) as well as Patrick’s middle graphic, but the latter may need some color. How about “WOLVERINES!!!” engraved in blood on the gun?
First one.
Patrick #2. Simple, corporate, yet still tacky.
RandyG used the Obama logo. There’s something to love about the irony of that… but at the same time, DAMMIT! NO!
LUke’s was okay, but I have to agree that Patrick’s #2 gets more to the spirit of the thing.
I can’t get behind Moon Nukers Anonymous. Twelve-Steppers are trying to stop being abusers. I.E. Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, etc. We need MORE Moon Nuking, not recovery from the urge to Nuke The Moon. That is what killed an otherwise successful concept. That and the words Moon Nukers Anonymous just seems… well… kinda gay.
First and second gets my votes.
I say we combine Luke and Patrick’s logos into one uberlogo. Give Patrick’s elephant some rockets.
The first one is great, simple yet symbolic.
I like the first. People will recognize the elephant as being Republican and realize that the rocket launchers symbolize how we just want to bomb everything that disagrees with us.
Vote for Josh. When can we get these
.45 and pay for it w/ your own money definatly
I like Patrick’s submissions. Short, sweet, to the point. Just like a logo should be.
The first one is simple enough to act as the “official post” logo. The second would look great on the back of a t-shirt / sweatshirt / jacket. (Maybe #1 on the front, left breast and #2 on the back? Yeah, I’m feeling it.) And the last one would make a great tattoo / bumper sticker. Maybe replace the dotted lines with a barcode motif, a la Dark Angel. I’d get one.
I like #2 . No not that #2.
I was talking about poop.
Patrick’s second one is the best one for the official logo, but I really the first camo elephant with rockets, too. Actually, I like them all, but those are my favorites.
My vote is for Patrick’s #1- simple and gets the message across. Maybe loop the words somehow into the elephants trunk more., and make the elephant’s head coming out from under the ground… The one from Evan very clever- but only IMAO’s will get it. I really enjoyed them all- every one is a winner.
The first one – Luke’s. Elephants with rocket launchers are cool, and we won’t put off the conservatives that don’t appreciate the word “bitch” being used.
Partial to Patrick’s # 2 design – 1911 w/Republican underground. It’s cool and will strike fear into to the hearts of spineelss gun banning libs, and give the rest of clear thinking folks hope – and the inspiration to save up for a good .45 and fill out their state’s obnoxious concealed carry permit application that they keep putting off doing.
Josh has my vote!
Russ’s one has potential if a more stylized version could be done, but otherwise I’m torn between Patrick’s #2 or #3.
I made them in illustrator too so their primed for any soft of products–shirts or anything else. Vector is my friend.
I love kanji as much as the next Gen Why otaku, but doesn’t that conflict with our “only our borders have a zip-tite seal” stance? Or are we trying to import Japanese people to work for our car companies?
I love Kent’s… it’s Republican Red and just floats there, ominously…
I like Kent’s too!
Yeah, me too!
What’s “Astroturfing” mean?
Dunno. Do you?
Nope… You?
I was going to ask you…
As for Patrick’s, I suppose you could replace “b1tch” with “wimp” for the family friendly version on baby onesies.
I agree a combination of Patrick’s and Lukes’s. Something about a cozy elephant with rockets telling you to buy your own. makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.
I am also for a second movement to make America a hippie free zone.
What’s up with all these asian charactors on a republican logo?
The logo should be SIMPLE, BOLD, CLEAN, and in ENGLISH!!!
I’m quite fond of the Republican Logo with rockets myself.
But anything with a gun involved is alright with me. Rockets or Guns. Either works.
While punching hippies is an important part of the Republican Underground, I think we need to have a higher level tag line. I’m not very creative so I did not come up with a logo per se. But if I had to create a tag line, it would have something to do with the Unfairness Doctrine. “Celebrating Unfairness Since 1980!” (gets the Reagan reference in there). “Life is Unfair, Get Over it!”
Patrick’s 2nd one is close enough for me. You know how the left is big on chants? We could do something similar and always say “Pay for it with your own money, bitch” right before we punch a hippie.
i say Patricks “Pay for it with your own money” and 1911.
Taking too long for this? What took you so long? Hellbender?
(Sorry, I just like to make myself laugh)
Love the humor of all, especially Russ’s.
My vote has to go to Patrick’s #2, it’s to the point. As a Mom, I would like to see “bitch” dropped form teh phrase. I would put the bumper sticker on the car is it didn’t say bitch….KWIM?
I’ll only by the T-Shirts if we keep Patrick’s #2 and don’t drop the Expletive. I find it rather fitting. Sometimes, despite a vocabulary to put Oscar Wilde to shame, an expletive is just the absolute perfect word for the moment. This is one of those moments.
Say Uncle Bitch works for me!
Definitely, Patrick’s second submission with the “ronin” conji engraved on the grips of the 1911!
I like Josh’s!
I’m torn between the proposed combination of Patrick’s first entry and Luke’s rocket-launcher elephant (though perhaps without the side rocket, for simplicity and cleaner lines), and Patrick’s #2 entry. Can’t decide which would be better, so I vote for both.
I vote for the second submission. I’ve always liked the line from The Magnificent Seven “We deal in lead, friend”; somehow seems appropriate with this.
I’m rather fond of the simplicity of the “Pay for it with your own muney bitch” logo.
Russ’s “say uncle” rocks (love the pachyderm eye patch) but Josh’s says what we mean in a nice way. We are supposed to be the nice ones, yes? Strict, but nice?
I like Luke’s, the first one. I love the missiles on the Elephant, and I like how it doesn’t say Underground.
Because I refuse to consider myself part of an ‘underground organization’ in order to support an established but now incompetent, non-existent for all intents and purposes, political party.
If it’s going to be underground it has to be a new party.
In fact, let’s all send a letter to the RNC and tell them we’ve abandoned their party the same way they’ve abandoned the conservative principles. We will be supporting some new party instead so they should pack up and ship the hell out.
The second one is perfect!
I vote for Josh
I like the last one. It just needs a different color scheme.
I liike Patrick’s 2nd logo, but I just sent Frank my own idea. I hope it’s not too late to submit logos.
I vote for the first one all the way.
The rocket launchers are a perfect compliment to that tough camoish exterior.
On this site reside some of the Internets most dreadfully unimpressive bloggers. Strident, rude and ignorant they gleefully pronounce that the war is just and social issues are an enormous priority. The facts suggest the opposite yet the loathsome, mindboggingly slime-driven maggots of IMAO.us fill the need to propagate despicable lies and asinine monkey babel nonetheless.
Either Josh’s or Patrick’s second.
Patrick #2 also.
To Chaucer – if you don’t like “despicable lies and asinine monkey babel” I suggest you also avoid DailyKos, HuffingtonPost, Democratic Underground, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and anyone connected with Barack 0bama.
Dear Mr. Chaucer;
I applaud you, sir. Your comment on this post (#73) is an example of some of the finest trolling I have yet seen. It is eloquent, biting, and relevant to the website in question, not to mention correctly spelled and properly punctuated (save for a single missed apostrophe). You even capitalized all the words that needed to be capitalized! I am impressed to find a troll so functionally literate, as I was not previously aware that your species was endowed with the mental capacity for such things. It’s rather like finding a gorilla capable of singing and dancing in a Broadway musical!
In fact, it is such an unlikely happenstance that I am even suspicious that you are not a troll at all, but rather an upstanding member of the IMAO.us community playing some sort of joke.
Whatever the case, I commend you for your effort!
Sincerely;
Krig T. Viking
Never been here before, but had to check out the art. I think I like the first one best.
I like Patrick’s first one, but add the “Pay for it with your own money, bitch” subtitle to it.
I like Josh’s…
Krig, he did spell one thing wrong. I’m not sure what mindbogging is. Maybe like a jedi mind trick or something.
Krig, he also used “babel” instead of “babble”. But maybe it was just a super clever way to connect with religious people.
I vote for #2..josh
If you’re going to use an elephant image –steal one of those four-tusked, twice as big, armored things from Lord of The Rings. They could carry a lot more rockets.
Josh has my vote. Great logo.
Patrick’s “Pay for it with your own money, bitch.” is my pick. I would prefer it without the “bitch” though. I understand such a comment is acceptable today, even for public display, but only due to the coarsening, and corrosive, effects of Liberalism. However, it is simple and to the point. If it comes out in a T-shirt, I will purchase it, assuming it comes out in a size appropriate for a fat, rich (but soon-to-be-poor) Conservative.
Josh’s logo, the second listed, is very good but it may be difficult to put to a T-shirt due to the high word count; hippies can’t read and liberals are unfamiliar with the concept of liberty, and the responsibilities thereof, as understood by The Founders.
I vote for Josh!
Number 1. Camo elephant with rocket launchers. Clean and simple.
If there really is a God, the guy would be a lobbyist for ACORN. How cool would that be?

Local lobbyist repeatedly stabbed by wild buck
November 15, 2008 – 2:33pm
Michelle Basch, WTOP Radio
WASHINGTON — A Maryland lobbyist was attacked by a deer outside his home and says the buck repeatedly stabbed him with its antlers, before he was able to wrestle the animal to the ground.
Gilbert Genn, a former state delegate from Montgomery County, says the bizarre incident occurred Thursday, as he left his Gaithersburg home to walk his dog, Yuffie. When the deer appeared on the front lawn of his home, his chocolate labrador ran to chase it off, but the buck didn’t budge.
“[Yuffie] started circling it, and the deer didn’t run. After a couple of seconds, I realized this was going to be a serious situation, because the deer then put its antlers down and was getting ready to charge Yuffie, who was barking at her,” Genn said. “At that point I tore down the driveway screaming ‘Yuffie get away.'”
But it was too late. The deer cut the dog off from his owner and went into attack mode. Before he knew it, Genn found himself face to face with the wild animal.
“It came right at me, from about 10 feet away. I tried to run at an angle, but it caught me flush in the back right leg, impaled me with its weight, knocked me to the ground. It started to come right at my face with its antlers.”
The buck impaled Genn in the chest, but in the tussle he managed to land a swift kick to the animal’s underbelly, causing it to momentarily abate. Genn said he then screamed for his wife to get the dog. As his wife approached the dog, the deer rammed Genn for the third time.
“It impaled me in the groin area. At that point, literally, I took the antler and pulled it out of me.”
Genn said his mind flashed to the tragic death of “Crock Hunter” Steve Irwin and he realized he had to prevent getting stabbed in a vital organ. Genn then grabbed the deer by the horns and pinned it to the ground for a couple of minutes, until the animal tired out. He said he then released the animal and quickly ran the other way.
He sustained injuries to his leg, chest, and groin.
“I looked down and already my blue sweat pants from my groin area on down had turned purple, so I knew I was pretty badly injured and needed some medical attention. It was a pretty frightening experience.”
But Genn did not go straight to the hospital. He tended to his groin injury with a paper binder clip, cotton and disinfectant, so he could make it to a long-planned meeting with Maryland House Speaker Michael Busch in Annapolis, close to 40 miles away.
“There was no way I could miss this meeting,” Genn said.
The lobbyist, who served as a Democrat in Maryland’s House from 1987 until 1999, joked that the attack may have had political ramifications.
“Not to get too partisan, but I’m convinced it was a Republican deer, because it happened right where we had our Obama sign. And all the deer could do was attack, attack, attack. So it had to be a Republican deer.”
Only after the meeting in Annapolis did Genn get himself to a hospital. He’s now doing fine, following the attack, though he has been getting rabies shots as a precaution.
Genn said he also spoken to county animal control officials, who note that deer can be very aggressive during the rutting season, when they mate.

I also like the “pay for it with your own money, bitch” i think that says a lot haha.
Patrick #2 for me. In fact, that’s what I’m saying to everybody, now. I’m happy that I saw this before Christmas.
Elephant with rocket launchers. ‘Nuff said
I like Josh’s
I vote for Josh’s.
Russ’s made me laugh. Patrick’s #2 is good but the slogan needs clarification. May I suggest,
“If it ain’t about Defense, Pay for it with your own money, Hippy!”
I also like the idea of a monster, LOTR Oliphaunt, bristling with weapons.
Grey as a mouse,
Big as a house,
Nose like a snake,
I make the earth shake,
As I tramp through the grass;
Trees crack as I pass.
With horns in my mouth
I walk in the South,
Flapping big ears.
Beyond count of years
I stump round and round,
Never lie on the ground,
Not even to die.
Oliphaunt am I,
Biggest of all,
Huge, old, and tall.
If ever you’d met me
You wouldn’t forget me.
If you never do,
You won’t think I’m true;
But old Oliphaunt am I,
And I never lie.
Josh’s
I vote for Luke’s. its simple and to the point.
Josh’s is my next favorite…
The nuke the moon one is good too.
No need for curse words in the logo ppl…
I know I’m late to the party. Been busy with my new freedom fighter (5 week old son).
Patrick’s #2 gets my vote.
I just unholstered my 1911 on my hip to caress it out of respect.
Great job, Patrick!
