Here’s the story:
When Fred Thompson had his radio show, Westwood One hired me (Harvey, in case you don’t read bylines) to run the show’s website. After Fred moved on, Westwood let me switch over to running the site for the Doug Urbanski Show. If you don’t know him, he’s a solid conservative who’s previously done fill-ins for other conservative talk show hosts (Laura Ingraham, Michael Savage, Fred Thompson, Tammy Bruce, Jerry Doyle, Rusty Humphries, Dennis Miller, Bill O’Reilly, AND Rush).
Well, 4 months in, the Westwood Powers-That-Be are suggesting that I start promoting him outside the show’s website.
Here’s the problem: I sincerely love Doug’s show. He chews on Obama like a puppy on a bacon-flavored slipper, plus he gives me a pretty free hand posting commentary on the site. I don’t have to hold back or be nice, because Doug enjoys playing hardball.
Just to give you a taste, here are some of the words Doug has used to describe Obama (in no particular order, and not all on the same day):
Liar, thug, bully, punk, Marxist, Statist, socialist, communist, community organizer, Serial-Liar-in-Chief, Comrade Obama, appeaser, politically tone-deaf, fool, disaster, bizarre, unprepared, neglectful, immature, self-absorbed, agitator, the enemy, violent, epic failure, disgrace…
You get the idea.
So I honestly think you guys would like his stuff, and I’ve thought about sharing it here before, but I thought it’d make me look like a sleazy corporate shill, one step above a random comment spammer.
So, I figure, I’ll give you one thing. If you like it, I’ll give you more. If not, I won’t. Here’s a recent quote from the show and a link to the audio clip:
There is a fundamental difference here between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans believe that the government is there to provide an atmosphere for you to succeed. The Democrats wish to use the government to protect Americans from those who want to succeed.
I’d post the audio here, but the Powers-That-Be want to see site traffic, so click through for the whole thing.
But please, don’t click through as a favor to me. Click through if you want to hear a human being saying these words because they’re something you want to hear.
Oh, and let me know what you think of it. Brutal honesty is appreciated.

I think my computer keeps blocking the download. I don’t know Urbanski, but I haven’t found any conservative talk radio in Northern Virginia yet. Is he syndicated out here? Also, Urbanski should get around to using “bratty” for Obama sometime.
Carolyn – He’s nationally syndicated, stations are listed here:
http://www.urbanskishow.com/stationfinder
Best bet, though, is to go to the website and listen to the live stream starting at 11am Central Time, or wait until 3pm Central and download the entire show (for free).
Besides, most radio stations don’t carry all three hours. Which sucks for their audiences, because Doug tends to let loose a little more during hour 3.
Thank you for posting this, Harvey. Urbanski has full archived shows on his website, and I’ve been looking for something to listen to everyday from 3-6 instead of that idiot Hannity. Hannity’s got more liberals on his show spouting crap than MSNBC, and it’s tiresome listening to one of the worst conservative debaters in the country endlessly “debating” mindless liberals for three hours every day.
Harvey – if you use the link above and click on a state that has no stations listed (e.g. IN or IL) it comes back and says: “Your search returned no results. Please use the map below to find the station nearest you.” But there isn’t any map – you have to do a “back” to get the map.
Please forward my complaint to the guy that runs the website.
Thanks, Harvey!
Brutal honesty? Harvey – Doug Urbanski is extremely lucky to have you on his team – as is Frank. Thanks for sharing this. And hope to see you write for IMAO more often as I’ve been hinting at for months.
When Frank and Basil and you are cranked-up over here, this place ROCKS! Link away, imho.
Well done !! Well done !! Thanks for the link. As Son Of Bob said, this is so much better than Hannity in the afternoons.
Hey Harvey, those are the same words Frank uses to describe Basil….
Joe Schmo:
Not true. Frank has never called me “Comrade.”
Well, “Harvey” wink wink as a frequent Random Comment Spammer I think you should go for it! How many personalities does Frank J have inside his head anyway? There’s Harvey, Basil, I’m pretty sure he then tries to fool us by being a really big ghey rube and posting as Jimmy…
I don’t know what it is about talk radio personalities, but even though I agree with every word that Doug said in this clip, his tone (and Rush’s, and Sean’s) grates on my ears. It’s like they are the flip side of the same coin that Congressman Barney Frank is on: I disagree with him on virtually everything he says AND his voice makes me want to surgically remove his vocal cords. Rush has a few guest hosts and Sean has one who I prefer to listen to, but otherwise I can only take those two in small doses. Doug is in the same category. I agree with him, but I can’t listen to him for any length of time.
Good point, Basil.
Visited the site, and “liked” it in Facebook.
An upcoming transfer will result in much longer commutes for me, so I’ll try a downloaded program or two during the drives.
Harvey, What’s with the reluctance? Is the “Government” watching over you to quash your success?
I can’t listen to audio at work – silly bosses think it interferes with productivity or some such nonsense – so I will just visit the site endlessly and gather hits for Harvey’s overlords. I’ll listen to the podcast later, on my own time.
“sleazy corporate shill” ? No. But you are a Stinking Pinko Commie Tool for conceding to the liberals’ premise that there’s supposedly something inherently immoral with trying to make a profit.
Love ya! =)
You know, Frank would have just posted “hey, you yahoos, click this link”.
“Full Disclosure?”
Does this mean I have to tell everyone that I gave money to the Herman Cain campaign every time I write something about a candidate?
Isn’t “Sleazy Corporate Shill” just another name for “Capitalist”? We love capitalism here – post it and lots of it. Anybody who uses the term Marxist when describing Obama is halfway to awesome in my book.
Basil, full disclosure could mean you have to reveal that you’re a founding member of The Herman Cain Brotherhood of Pizza Eating Bastids (BOPEB – a wholy-owned subsidiary of MarcoMancuso’s BOBEB.)
Thank you again, Harvey. Listening to Urbanski as I write this…it’s so nice to not hear, “Let’s go to our busy phones, oh James a big Lib from New Jersey…” followed by ten minutes of mind-numbed, liberal talking points and then Hannity doing a poor job of debating the hippy. Urbanski is my new 3-to-6 listen. Maybe someday Sean Hannity will realize that when you argue with a retard, after a while it gets difficult to tell which one of you is the retard.
That guy sounds informed … He can have an opinion!
Thanks, Harvey. The man’s got attitude, and I’ll go back again. I think the best part of the site may be the quote from Harlan Ellison quotation at the top of the page.
Nice
So why didn’t you do this before?
Neat, Harvey!
I’ve been listening to Doug since he came on the air here.
He is such a great communicator, is fearless in speaking his convictions, boldly names manmade
global warmingclimate changeHistory’s Biggest Hoaxand loves Herman Cain.
I only found one slight error on your excellent Urbanski site,
Omaha’s KOIL carries our dear dear friend
from 3-6pm, not 3-5pm.

Sounds like a good listen. I used to download & listen to Fred until he started charging for his content. Yeah – I love the free ice cream…
I don’t see “Narcissistic, self-aggrandizing c*ckbag” on the list. Let’s try to do better, shall we?
What a neat audio clip. I’ll keep an ear out for him if they start playing him in my tiny corner of the midwest.
See if you can convince him to do a “Lightning Round” section in each program (hint, hint).
That big white space at the bottom needs to go.
