I think the reason Hollywood is so dominated by the left is that the right tend to be people who do stuff rather than people who like to pretend to be other people who actually do stuff. You can say the same thing about why the left are so attracted to politics.
The evidence is overwhelming – just go into any movie theatre in Manhattan and any Christian conservative is beaten over the head, insulted to the max throughout the movie. I used to love going to the movies and now – the ones I try going to often I walk out of. Just read Rob Long’s article in National Review. If I can get it online I’ll post it.
You’ll just have to go out and get the June 6, 2011 edition of National Review Magazine and go to page 40 and read his column “The Long View” or subscribe the digital version. He’s funny. I’d have to say funnier than our Frank, but then I guest they are two kinds of funny. It makes fun of hollywood producers and writers, but sadly, they are worse than he even portrays.
That crowd does not need my money. I have better things to do that waste my time with hollyweird crap. The only movies I buy have conservative actors such as Jon Voight and Tom Selleck.
So, as we all know, this whole process in Hollywood started in the 40’s and 50’s (and actually, even the 20’s and 30’s). And I guess McCarthy was right overall – although often such a jerk that many Libertarians love to hate him to this very day. Sadly, a majority of Americans even now can’t distinguish between involvement in their “communities” and “communism.” They don’t understand the difference between freedom of association and political totalitarianism. I suppose this is in keeping with the fact that half the population has a below average IQ (ok, assuming the median=average).
Let me keep to a single theme today in order to bore readers to tears. (Remember, I aim to entertain myself.)
So Crowder goes a long way toward explaining this:

Hollywood tilts left? Really? Did you notice the lack of coverage this expose is getting from the media, and political Hollyweird types? Where is Stewart, O’donnel, Penn, and the coven of Obamanations?
Having trouble finding their double mocha macciado late with goats milk and no fat whipped cream? Or mayhaps Rodeo Drive is having a sidewalk sale or somewhere there’s a diversity celebration that missing it’s token idiot or a military recruiting station that needs to be protested?
Steve as usual is spot on and it’s not whining if it’s true. It’s just the facts ma’am, just the facts.
This is why I watch so little TV and go to so few movies. It is liberating.
Somewhere Joe McCarthy is screaming “I told you so!”
Poor Joe. He was going after the wrong “ist”. Instead of Communists he should have been going after Socialist Humanists. But then again it’s all a question of degree I guess. Instead of the six degrees of Kevin Bacon, it’s the six degrees of “isms”. They are all connected to each other through the father of lies. The trail starts and ends there but many refuse to accept the existence of an entity that seeks the destruction of mankind, for revenge, that they can’t see touch or feel. Of course you can do all those if you are attuned and not desensitized to the insidious march of evil pervading the earth.
Great nations and great individuals do not fall because of one glaring mistake, flaw or sin, if you would. No it is a collection, a catalogue of small, seemingly insignificant actions building one upon the other that eventually brings to pass the destruction of the entity. Prophets, Sunday School Teachers, Pastors, Bishops and parents have been trying to teach these principles for millennia. Some of us are just slow learners, I guess, or stuck on stupid. The cynic in me says the latter, the believer in me insists the former.
