Nuke the News: RIP Andrew Breitbart

I was about to write my normal post when I saw the news about Andrew Breitbart’s sudden passing. Let’s just consider the mushroom cloud on IMAO to be flying at half height today.

Inevitably, there are a lot on the left celebrating his death. I have trouble understanding that one. The one death of someone I disagreed that I wasn’t civil about was Ted Kennedy. That’s my barrier — you actually have to kill someone to not get my full sympathy. Politics is just too silly to actually hate people over. And the ones joyed by Breitbart’s death are simply exposing their fundamental problem with freedom of speech. They hate to hear anyone disagree when it’s the diversity of opinion in this country that should be celebrated. We keep each other honest. And that’s what Breitbart did; he shined a light where the left didn’t want anything exposed. And having to confront their demons because of him, the left are now better for it.

My prayers go out to Andrew Breitbart’s family.

  1. We on the Right keep looking for a Champion and we are dismayed at every turn, it seems. Guess it’s time to get off our ass and go out an kick over some anthills of apathy. Pick up his flag and keep bringing the battle to the Media Complex doorstep.

Rest in Peace, Andrew. You earned it.

  2. Too bad the videos of Obama in college that Breitbart talked about at CPAC won’t ever be released.

Wait…maybe that was the point. A little bolus of potassium will cause a “natural heart attack.

  3. I hate starting my day in tears. Prayers for his family, and massive gratitude for everything he did, and tried to do. I guess we all have to step up, now, and try to find a way to carry on the fight.

  4. Horrible news. Author Brad Thor tweeted that Andrew told him some months ago that he had health problems so maybe it was really just his time but a bad time for America. RIP Breitbart, we needed someone like you and you delivered.

  5. So very sad. Though his time was cut short he made the most of the years God gave him.

Wherever he is I hope he can read all the nasty comments from the self-proclaimed paragons of tolerance and civility – he’d get a big laugh out them. We can say this for sure: he made all the right enemies.

  6. God Bless Andrew Breitbart and his family

I will miss the way he made the left scream like the little girls that they are.

As Willy said, He showed us how it is done. Lets pick up the flag and do it the Breitbart way: Straight up and in their lying leftist liar faces.

  7. Excuse the tinfoil hat, but I find this suspicious.

However, I must clarify that I do not suspect President Obama of playing any kind of significant direct role in arranging the assassination of Andrew Breitbart. I have it from reliable sources that Obama has had his head stuck safely in a bucket since Tuesday. I am not prepared to rule out his Chicago friends or the Hungarian Palindrome Gnome.

  8. Still in shock, this sucks. 43 is far too young.

Don’t be surprised that many leftists feel fine with dancing on the grave of those whom they disagreed. You just have to remember that for conservatives, liberals are wrong but for liberals, conservatives are evil and the behaviour makes perfect sense.

  9. The one thing I’ll most remember most about Breitbart is when he confronted some hippies who were protesting in the parking lot of a conservative convention in Chicago. An old hippie was holding up a “Glenn Beck Lies” sign. Breitbart challenged him to name something Beck had lied about. The hippie stammered because he couldn’t think of anything so he said “I’m not falling for that trap!” Breitbart laughed at him and yelled something like “FOR YOU, THE TRUTH IS A TRAP!” To me, that incident sums up why he was such a target of hatred for the left; he ruined their liberal mythology with the truth.

  10. For me, Crusty it was watching him speak at a Tea Party rally in DC. He was talking about the whole deal that went down about lawmakers entering the Capitol to sign in the “healthcare” law and one of them freaking out because (the lawmaker claimed) someone called him by the n word. Breitbart said he’d pay $100k to anyone who could produce video/audio of someone actually saying this and not just the lawmaker claiming it. He never had to pay out.

  11. Heartbroken. AB was fearless and, as DamnCat so aptly put it, “made all the right enemies”. I guess that’s one way to know when you are on the right path.
And. by the way, I am from Branson, MO. Prayers are appreciated for our town. Along with this news, it’s been one of those weeks….

  12. Whitney Houston died 2/12, we still don’t know ‘of what’. Andrew Breitbart dies and 5 hours later, according to his own site, it was “natural causes”. According to who? People who jumped to the obvious conclusion for Whitney are raaaaaaaaaaaacists, I’m sure, so what are people who assume a 43 white guy dropping dead had a “heart attack”? Seems like a pretty big leap. How did the “fact” that he had “heart problems” make it into the story? Who told them that? It wasn’t his father in law, he said it was news to him.
I sure hope his wife has someone do an independent autopsy.
It’s funny how the comments on places like Yahoo “news” seem to be mindless morons parroting what they’re told to say about someone they wouldn’t know if he walked right into them. They’re definitely idiots, the useful part is up for serious debate.

    RIP
