Conservatives and Their Mean Old Existing

So the narrative about the whole IRS thing is changing. First, it was this is awful… but done by a few low-level employees. Now it’s “overreach” with the addition of “conservatives brought this on themselves by existing.”

Conservatives existing as long been seen as a provocation by liberals. Liberals are just walking around, being super right about everything, and then suddenly these conservatives exist and ruin that. And then we ruin freedom of speech by using it in a way liberals never envisioned it being used — to disagree with them.

Well, we just can’t help the existing, so we’ll just have to make a compromise: Liberals get to yell and scream at us all they want, and we get to smash all their toys in front of them while they watch. Smash all their toys — their government power — while they weep and cry. Other compromise: Hippies will be allowed to have faces as long as we can punch them.

It’s all fun and games until you start using the government against us, and then you must suffer.

  1. the biggest problem with the whole IRS targeting scandal is that all the outrage from “legitimate” media and in general the kind of people that low-information voters listen to is that the only victims are those that they don’t really like anyway. Members of the left-wing media understand that what happened is wrong and they ought to be outraged in order to hang on to whatever shred of legitimacy they think they have, but really, THEY’RE NOT. They don’t really care that the government went after their political enemies, and possibly effected the outcome of an election because their guy won and the only people that got hurt are people that have points of view that ought to be silenced anyway.

To them, this is like waterboarding. Yeah torture sucks, but hey, we DID get all this actionable intelligence that allowed us to prevent some terrorist attacks so how much do you REALLY want to punish the people that did the torturing and made it possible for us to save possibly thousands of lives? Instead, why don’t we just pay some lip service to how wrong we think it is, “force” the perpetrators into early retirement (with full pay and benefits), give them a nice, cushy, no-show consulting gig and move on.

Jim McDermott said exactly what they’re all thinking…and he did it without fear or shame.

  3. Hey Frank,

Does it make you smile when you think that if it is the real Janeane posting, when she posts on your blog, she reaches more people than she does on her radio show, blog, and every other media outlet she has combined?

  4. Wait! Blarg did I understand you correctly, jamine godawfulfellow has he-shes own radio show? Blog? Wow! Who knew marxists could talk and write! I will alert the marxist media! Now about that audit…

  5. plentyofbailouts – well…I guess it depends on your definition of “radio show”. She either has or had a show on Air America…part of Al Gore’s media empire that was supposed to be the left’s answer to the success of Rush Limbaugh in a market-driven enterprise in that bastion of right-wing ideology known as “the entertainment industry”. The answer apparently was to have George Soros dump a bunch of his own money into supporting a left-wing ideology-driven radio network despite its inability to attract a audience or sponsors. I believe the network is no longer “on the air” as they have shut down their radio broadcast network, and have since been sold to the Arabs for a billion “evil petro-dollars” but might still be streaming on the interwebz somewhere. Other glittering jewels of leftist intelligentsia like Rosie ODonell also had shows on the network.

As for blogs…well yes she has one. But if I might borrow and mangle a phrase – If you buy a flute, then you are the owner of a flute. If you buy a domain name, then you’re a blogger.
