Turns Out Martin Luther Doesn’t Hate Libertarians

Although this theologian *did* famously use the phrase YGDFT!YLTATSOTE!, he did not do so with the meaning that we recognize today. Capitalist_B explains:

New Scholarship shows that the acronym under Luther’s portrait was not actually a screed against early 21st century political movements, but was his attempt to distance his doctrine of “Sola Fide” from the notion of “cheap grace,” by which Faith in God does not produce good works. Translated from the German, it actually reads:

You God-Denying Faithless Theologians! Your Leanings Towards Antinomianism Tolerate Satan Overthrowing The Earth!
