[High Praise! to Anonymiss of Nuking Politics (from 2013)]
Tangentially, I had this thought.
In the comments, please talk about your favorite rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. If you can drop a link to a YouTube video of it in the comments, so much the better.
Personally, I’m kinda partial to the version SarahK did for the IMAO Podcast back in 2005 (and be sure to also go to 31:23 for the 4th stanza).
And you?
[Think you have a link that’s IMAO-worthy? Send it to harvolson@gmail.com. If I use your link, you will receive High Praise! (assuming you remember to put your name in the email)]

SarahK, that was truly beautiful.
Mr. Jimi did my favorite however I do like Madison Rising’s version too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDv3Kt5jk1Q
Ooh, SarahK sang the 4th stanza, cool!
I was deeply moved when the royal family sang the Star Spangled Banner in chapel (maybe St. Pauls) just after September 11th. Kinda weird, but very moving.
Good golly! I just listened to the first verse. I’m no expert, but SarahK someone should be paying you for your singing!
And the rendition Whitney Houston did for the SuperBowl (TM?) in January 2002. I bought the CD of that.
The Whitney Houston version is my favorite, too. She sings it like a person who has sung it many times before and puts her whole being into it.
