Link of the Day: A Little Nuts on That One

[High Praise! to 4of7 of Little Worlds]

2012 Sorta Fresh – The Final Chapter (October and November)

Oh, and in case you forgot (like me) what happened in last week’s Kevin Koastie, you’ll need the context to make sense out of this week’s comic.

  1. Oops, sorry!
I guess I should explain what I was going for with this cartoon.
The Elves, being a psychic race, can influence the minds of other races, but are also highly susceptible to the pre-conceived ideas about them held by others. (The “Influence”)
Since Kevin’s attitude about Elves was formed by his reading The Lord of the Rings, any Elf who gets within a stones throw of him will feel a strong impulse to live up to his expectations – be noble, brave, wise, kind, a snappy dresser, have good hair, etc.
By getting the whole crew to say good things about Elves, Kevin hoped that it would put Mr. Sprock into such a good mood that he’d be able to talk to him without having Mr. Sprock try to pound him into pudding again.
(Spoiler Alert) In coming episodes, I intend to reveal that the Elves have been trying to take over the world for thousands of years.
However, the last time they tried, so many people had read The Lord of the Rings by that time that the worst they could do was stomp some crop circles into some grain fields, mutilate a few cattle, and abduct a few hillbillies who’d never read LOTR.
Is Mr. Sprock really an Elf? (Or just a regular guy with pointy ears?)
    Is he really from Milwaukee?
How did J.R.R. Tolkien get to know so much about Elves?
    What’s up with that ring?
What role will beer play in this unfolding drama?
When are we going to see more penguins?

    Stay tuned! 🙂
