  1. A 15/hour minimum wage may be just the thing to encourage food service industries to eliminate the germ laden petri dish burger flippers and go with robots. the price of burgers would probably become more affordable. Plus, robots do not expect more than a 3% tip.

  2. A thought on minimum wage from John Stoessel:

That is a great conceit of the central planners: thinking that only government prevents employers from paying workers nearly nothing. But the reason Americans don’t work for $1 an hour is competition, not government minimums. Competition is what forces companies to pay workers more. It doesn’t much matter that the law says they can pay as low as $7.25. Only 4 percent of American workers now make that little. Ninety-five percent make more.

The free market will sort this out, if politicians would just let it.

  3. $15/hr would bring a new level of competition to the “burger flipping” industry. Now you don’t have to have the multiple piercings/tattoos “kid” at the register scaring small children. Clean cut, degrees workers that are in the job market will find this wage much more workable than that unemployment check.

If they get this raise through their mass protesting, the unintended consequences will be that the majority of them will be unemployed as a result.
