I had mixed feelings about this.
It was delightful to not have to sit through the awkwardness of watching teddy bears kill men in space armor, but it also brought home how terrible George Lucas is at writing expository dialogue.
For me, though, being 99% Ewok-free wins out.
I like this – makes the movie far more enjoyable when you don’t have to consider the planetary holocaust and complete annihilation visited upon the Ewoks by the Death Star’s destruction.
