To those who served: Thank you.
To those currently serving: Thank you.
To the civilians circa 1985-1991: You’re welcome.
My suggestions for the best way to thank the troops?
1) Enjoy life in a free country. A gift ain’t a gift unless it’s enjoyed. Do something fun.
2) Be the kind of American who’s worth fighting for.

Heartfelt thanks to all that have served the country.
Thank you for YOUR service, and you are most welcome! I would do it all over again. (USA, Cpt, Ret.)
Harvey:
Thank you!…
I’m doing (1), but
Not sure about (2)
..
To Harvey:
NuckingFuts:
(and, judging by the Oct. 13th Navy anniversary post)
c64wood:
crazyjetguy:
Jimmy! The Best Moon Nuker:
Greg:
Ian Waterman:
HCG:
and Crabby’s Father:
and Walrus, based on his “thank you,” on the Marines’ anniversary post:
And all those I do not know about, not listed above . . .
Well, (imagine Reagan’s voice here) . . .
“Yes, I did not serve…
But, if it weren’t for YOU
I couldn’t post on this website that you make
(And made) possible
Each and every day
(you know, the Democrats would see to that)
{laughter},
So:
Thanks to YOU — individually, each and every one.”
[/Reagan’s voice]
“Be the kind of American who’s worth fighting for.”
At the behest of politicians who aren’t worth the powder to blow their brains clean out the backs of their skulls.
The only things we have left now are a some good people and the original ideals of our country. Everything else in our “body of laws” has pretty much crapped the Constitution.
/Reality Check
But, I should add – and as I’ve told my son who is currently serving – this alone has to be enough reason to both serve and be worth serving. Because, after all, it’s all we ever had, anyway.
High honor to those who have served their country and are still around to think about it.
Ditto to what Harvey said except change the 1985-1991 to 1983-1987.
Ditto again to what Harvey said except 1993-1995 USA (95-96 USAR).
