I still think ink is for sailors, bikers, and circus women, but I found this informative anyway.

Full disclosure: despite falling into one of the above three categories, I don’t have any tattoos of my own. I considered it, vaguely, but I was self-aware enough to realize that I couldn’t think of anything that I was sure I’d still think was cool in 20 years.

But if I *had* to get a tattoo, it’d be an American flag. I’ve thought it was cool all my life, and at this point I’m quite sure that’ll never change.

Full disclosure on the third category: I had both an aunt and a great-grandmother named Lydia.
