Easy Fix

California says it needs more money for road repairs, so they’re testing a plan to tax people for every mile they drive.

It sounds intrusive, but most will only have to pay it once – on the way out to buy a house in Texas.

  1. One thing that can be said is that this represents why we have a Federal system and why our Central government should be smaller. If the people of California want to pay for this, then they are welcome to foot the bill and if the bill is too high they can more readily change their state government to reflect their preferences.

  2. Every breath you take
    Every move you make
    Every bond you buy
    Even when you die
    I’ll be taxing you.

    Every single day
    Every word you say
    Every game you play
    Every night you stay
    I’ll be taxing you.

    Oh can’t you see
    You belong to me?
How The Poor’s heart aches for every buck you make.

    Every move you make
    Every vow you break
    Every mile you drive
    Every way you thrive
    I’ll be taxing you.

When you’ve gone I’ll be lost without a trace.
I dream at night, I can only see your race.
    I look around but it’s you I can’t replace.
I feel for gold, and I long for a safe space.
I keep crying pay me, pay me, please…
