  1. There’s a lot in the Old Testament about measurements, and about the honesty required in their use — Ezekiel 45, for example. “You are to use accurate scales, an accurate ephah and an accurate bath.” Because it’s important. No thumb on the ephah.

  2. A company I used to work for made decisions using the following rule:

    Measure it with a micrometer.
    Mark it with a piece of chalk.
    Cut it with a hatchet.

    They are no longer in business.
