I sometimes forget that not everyone is as familiar with Georgia history as I am. Not just people that didn’t grow up in Georgia, but kids in Georgia today, because they don’t teach what I learned. This came to mind because of a video I saw recently about Casimir Pulaski. I knew who he was because he was taught in Georgia History, because he was killed in the Siege of Savannah in 1779.
Of course, this video starts with other states recognizing him, so you really don’t need to know Georgia history to know about Casimir Pulaski. Although it does point out that not enough people know about this hero of the Revolutionary War.
So what’s been on your mind? Got something you’d like to share? It’s Monday Night Open Thread, and you pick the topic.
Who wants to start?

I knew a bit about him because there is a bridge in NY named after him.
And a highway and a city in western NY north of Syracuse.
He was a badace.
Also named for him was Union Fort Pulaski located outside Savannah Georgia. This fort played a major role in keeping Savana’s harbor from being used as a port by the Confederacy.
It’s too bad there’s no way to give history lessons on nightly open threads.
Pretty much sums up my situation……………..

I believe there’s a street in south St Louis named after him, but I could be wrong. I walked past it every day going to school my freshman year.
I Googled it. It’s there. It’s funny. It’s a tiny thing, about 2 blocks long, but there’s 5 or 6 churches within a 3 block radius.
Must be the white light district…
We’ll keep some devotional candles on fer ya.
I heard Casimir and George Washington were Gay Lovers but I’m not buying it.
Heard it from who? Get doxxing.
