I was on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) when this happened. We were a ways back from the action, in the Gulf of Oman – you don’t send a carrier into the Persian Gulf, it’s a distance weapon, not a skirmish vessel – but we were the source of the A-6s and F-14’s mentioned in the article.

Replace, ‘smart’ with ‘credentialed’ and I might tend to agree. Socialism tends toward being the purview of people ‘educated’ well beyond their intelligence. I see little evidence of smarts.
