“Operation Petticoat” is one of my favorite movies. It has some scenes that still bring a laugh today, no matter how many times I’ve seen the film. The Seaman Hornsby scenes are hilarious, but the whole sinking of a truck thing has to be the funniest to me. Thing is, that’s based on an actual event.
No, I’m not gonna talk about that event, but another event that reminded me of that event. This one was on purpose: the sinking of a train.

5. Kicking the Howells and the guys off of Gilligan’s Island. (But perhaps retaining the Professor off-site.)
Just shows Cary Grant’s natural ability for comedy.
So many great lines and bits in that movie.
When they’re under 21 they’re protected by law, over 65 they’re protected by nature. In between, they’re fair game.
WW II submariners did some crazy stuff. Rescued future presidents from cannibals; carried tons of gold out from under the noses of the enemy; landed coast watchers; and sunk aircraft carriers, tankers, and merchant vessels.
And Fluckey wasn’t just lucky; he was good. The reason they sank a train—there nothing afloat left to sink.
And The History Guy is good.
AND Y’ALL the weather broke! Tuesday it poured down around 5:15 pm. The last two nights I’ve fed my dogs without getting my shirt soaking wet with sweat!
