Just a quickie tonight. Hey, I have a life outside IMAO. We had a different winner last week. Tankdemon makes the board with guessing they all were acts with Boston roots. Except Sammy Davis Jr. Damn you Wikipedia, damn you to Hell!
On to tonight’s Music.
Short and sweet, bon appetit and good luck, we are all counting on you.

Check Out Bonarama’s cover of whipping post… a wawa pedal on a trombone… is .. redundant?

Very nice selection tonight. Well done.
I agree. This is much better than the mushy love songs I was expecting tonight.
I will foil Les! I will!
I hate to quibble, (narrator voice: everybody knows that quibbling is tankdemon’s raison d’etre,) but this is an oak leaf cluster for me. I was the initial member of the Order of the Golden Emu.
I stand corrected then. Picked the wrong week to quit drinking.
BTW, did you get the ribbon graphics I sent to submissions on 2/2, or couldn’t use them, or did if get lost in the bowels of email spam filters?
I think the Emu ate it. I can’t find anything.
I resent it just now. I really resent it, dang it.
Emu evasion successful.
Are these the highest charting songs for these bands?
Edit: it looks like Whitesnake messes that guess up. Back to the salt mines.
I’m guessing these are all songs that appear in this Saturday’s Hootenanny.
I denounce myself.
Bloody hell! I think I be stumped.
There should be something obvious that I’m missing. All over the charts. Most didn’t hit #1. All have prominent guitars and drums. Some artists have died, but, amazingly, I think all the members of Black Sabbath are still kicking. I even looked at the inspiration for the songs, and similarities/colors in the albums’ cover art!
One slightly interesting coincidence is that the drummer for the Jeff Beck Group, Cozy Powell, drummed for the majority of the bands in the lineup, including Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Emerson, Lake & Powell, and Black Sabbath.

I got it! It’s all white rock, played by all white bands, with all white members, for an all white audience!
Good Lord.
A moment ago, I just happened to be listening to music by a female composer, and realized that all the musicians in this group are guys. Then I read the comment above by Zzyzx, and that’s also true.
‘Cept the Jeff Beck Group, a little more melanin diverse.
I ain’t that woke.
Does someone stutter in each song?
Do they?
Every performer is a male.
Keith Moon, John Bonham, The Rev Sullivan, Duane Allman and Berry Oakley….okay, the early deaths of band members kind of tapers off after that.
All long have guitar solos
