Government Says Four Cancer Charities Are Shams

David Fitzpatrick and Drew Griffin, CNN | May 19, 2015

The Federal Trade Commission says four cancer charities run by extended members of the same family conned donors out of $187 million from 2008 through 2012 and spent almost nothing to help actual cancer patients.

We were ordered out of the building at the Cancer Fund of America in Knoxville, Tennessee, and were the object of an obscene gesture by the CEO of The Breast Cancer Society in Mesa, Arizona.

The Cancer Fund of America is run by James Reynolds Sr. His son James Reynolds Jr. is the CEO of the Breast Cancer Society. Another charity, the Children’s Cancer Fund of America, is run by Rose Perkins, the ex-wife of the elder James Reynolds. He’s also the CEO of the fourth charity, Cancer Support Services.

The government says the charities claimed to provide direct support for cancer patients, breast cancer patients and children with cancer.

“These were lies,” the government’s complaint says.

Jessica Rich, chief of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, says that in all, the charities spent about 97% of donations they received either on private fundraisers or on themselves. Only 3%, she says, went to help actual cancer patients.

Florida special needs trust fund LOSES $100MILLION as 1,500 accounts for families of disabled children are drained: Parents of blind girl, 11, with cerebral palsy say they told FBI a DECADE ago about missing $350K – but nothing was done
Daily Mail UK | March 21, 2024 | Will Potter

Hundreds of families have been left devastated after a Florida special needs non-profit lost over $100 million held in trusts for their disabled children.

Tampa-based Center for Special Needs Trust Administration (CSNTA) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month – two years after the eye-watering fortune used to aid disabled kids was discovered to be missing by its leadership.

According to the filing, the center found that its founders had loaned themselves the millions – intended for disabled children – over an 11-year span, and never repaid it.

There’s no reason these wouldn’t be funded by taxpayer dollars.

Spraying Manure and Throwing Beets, Farmers in Tractors Again Block Brussels To Protest EU Policies
AP | 3/26/24 | Raf Casert and Mark Carlson

BRUSSELS (AP) — Farmers threw beets, sprayed manure, . . . and set hay alight on Tuesday as hundreds of tractors again sealed off streets close to the European Union headquarters, where agriculture ministers sought to ease a crisis that has led to months of protests . . .

The farmers protested what they see as excessive red tape and unfair trading practices as well as increased environmental measures and cheap imports from Ukraine.

I don’t know if we have any excessive red tape, unfair trading practices, or environmental measures in place, though. And beets can hurt, if uncooked. And if you set hay alight aren’t you . . . mm . . . . burning what you yourself have already paid for?

8 states are planning to BAN the sale of gas-powered cars entirely – after Biden unveiled ambitious plans to phase them out by 2032
Daily Mail UK | 3/26/2024 | Tilly Armstrong

California – run by governor Gavin Newsom – plans specify that 35 percent of all new car sales will need to be zero-emission by 2026, rising to 68 percent by 2030.

Rhode Island was the most recent state to join the list of states pledging to ban the sale of gas-powered cars, joining Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Washington.

According to the site, the District of Columbia has also made the commitment.

Other states have adopted versions of the legislation, but not yet pledged to ban gas-powered cars entirely by that date.

Measure Twice, Cut Once

British NHS Hospital ‘Accidentally’ Chops Off 6 People’s Limbs in 3 Years.
The National Pulse | 3/5/24

A British hospital has admitted that it mistakenly performed six amputations in three years, a small fraction of an ‘accidental’ amputation epidemic occurring at UK hospitals with as many as 105 over three years.

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust acknowledged the mistakes — the highest number of incidents in any UK hospital — resulting from medical negligence. The Yorkshire hospital revealed that four of the accidental amputations occurred in 2020, while the remaining two happened in 2021.

However, the Yorkshire hospital is not the only hospital operating under Britain’s socialized healthcare system to have ‘accidentally’ cut off peoples’ limbs. Records disclosed by Accident Claims reveal that Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust also carried out two unnecessary amputations. Five further cases of mistaken amputations resulting from medical negligence occurred at Medway NHS Foundation Trust in Kent.

Doctor: “So, which arm are we lopping off?”

Administrator: “The left one.”

Doctor: “My left or his left?”

Administrator: “Well, not your left, obviously.”

Doctor: “No, I mean the left side as I look at him, or the left side as he looks at me?”

Administrator: “Well, he’s out, so. . . [Checks schedule] Time’s a-wasting!”
